what is the difference between " y" and " e " ? don't they both mean ' and ' ? i'm Learning spanish and i just encountred them :D
It is a vocalisation and pronunciation matter:)

It’s de “and” by default: María y Pedro.

When the word following the “y” has a /i/ sound, the “y” turns into “e”.This is to indentify the sounds better: Cultura e imperio. Culture and impire.
Exceptions
Use “y” when:
The next word begings with diphthong: Agua y hielo. Water and ice.
When /i/ has a different sound: Y Hitler (h sound)
Use “e” when:
When you have a foreign word that has the /i/ sound even if there is no “i” written: Nombre e email. Name and email.
