@declanflanagan Roksana had been up early out of habit but it gave her plenty of time to decorate a cake order, clean up from that, and set up everything for the cookies she was going to bake that afternoon. The kitchen having a lot of counter space and large oven had truly been a large part of her having chosen to pursue the home for rent, knowing that she wanted to make her new business work out well. She invested in another convection oven that sat on the counter and would be sure to help for the multitude of cookies that were going to be made.

While she knew that most of the cookies being made that day were for customers, she was still looking forward to meeting Declan’s children and having Daisy’s help. As she pulled a bag of chocolate chips out of one of the cabinets and set it on the counter with several other ingredients and a few bowls, she hummed along to some music she had playing from her bluetooth speaker. With her phone synced to the device and Pandora bouncing through various alternative songs, Roksi took her phone with her to text Declan while she padded out of the room. “Just getting a few things ready. Come in whenever you guys get here.” 

There was a bit of nervousness bubbling in her, even if it wasn’t showing. Things had been going well between her and Declan, that the cynic in her felt there was only a matter of time before something or someone came along to counter the good--whether that was early in their relationship or later on. Of course, she hoped it wouldn’t come in the form of his children not liking her but she hadn’t shaken the bit of anxiousness. Whenever Declan talked about his children, she had wondered what meeting them in person was going to be like. Soon enough, she would find out.
