Posting another one of my originals - this one’s very different from anything I’ve done before. In the past I’ve done more traditional stuff with a focus on specific period sounds (e.g. 70s cop/action movie, 50s orchestral B-horror) and jazz so to do something in a more contemporary, dance-influenced style was really different for me.
I did some little ping-pong panning so if you wanna try listening on headphones that’d be rad.
Peep Barry White’s Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up for inspiring that descending Maj7 arpeggio (7,5,3,1,7below) that’s pretty much the core of this project. And peep this underscored narration in Nat King Cole’s Wild Is Love album for inspiring those hits.
I apologize for some glitches with instruments cutting out - I had never had these issues in ProTools playback and I didn’t check the file after I bounced it out. I’m waiting on my new laptop/ProTools setup to come in so I can fix some of those glitches as well as some little musical things (like the string trill’y thing).
My professor was really proud of my progression this year - not even in ProTools so much as just musically. She pointed out that this is a piece I never would have thought to create a year ago and she’s so right - I have really moved forward as a person in the past year.
New composition of mine, Elegy in D Minor https://musescore.com/user/40950/scores/3740756
I was in the lobby of the music building talked to my friend Alex about stuff I've been working on with my lute and this guy outta nowhere runs up to me, this huge hulking guy, and gets really close to my face and yell-whispers YOU PLAY THE LUTE And I stammered "I mean I'm a classical guitarist but I picked up the lute like a week ago" And he lost his shit and begged me for my info bc he's a composition major and he's been writing stuff for lute but thought he'd never hear it bc he didn't know anyone who played

Here is a sneak peek at my trailer music for Book of Kings, a game I'm scoring a 2 hour soundtrack for!
I’m really, really proud of the work I did here
Nearly six years after the completion of the core @underspacegame #OST, I’m BACK with @trainwiz for the next act!
Like all my soundtracks, I interweaved the best parts of my original score into this Union March, ensuring a cohesive and satisfying sound.
If you enjoyed listening, tell me what you liked about it!
