The High Cost of the Shortcut: Lessons from the Birth of Ishmael
We live in an era of âinstant.â Instant downloads, instant coffee, and instant gratification. Weâve become so accustomed to the quick fix that waiting has started to feel like failure. When God gives us a promise but doesnât provide a timeline, our human nature tends to get twitchy. We start looking for the âPlan Bââa way to help God along. But as we see in the story of Abraham, Sarah, and theâŠ

So the recovery after surgery..
I have a scar going from my belly button all the way down to *you-know-where*. First 2 weeks where fine, 1 week at the hospital and 1 week at home.
Had my first post-checkup. They told me my scar "looked good". But they also had some bad news.. đą
The removed 27 lymph nodes, 1 of them was infected with my cancer.. So in about 4 to 5 weeks i had to start chemo and radiation. 5 times chemotherapy and 25 times radiation therapy..
After that week i felt something.. don't really know how to describe it.. it felt like a couple of pangs.. like my inner sutures where letting go.
And sure, why not. The first complication. I had a open belly wound, not in 1 place, but i had 4 (!!) open holes in my lower belly.
Went to the hospital about 3 times. All around christmas, one of them even poked around with a surgical cotton swab. The wound even became bigger because of that. So that sucked..
Next time (sorry, i have to dose my story to not trigger myself) I'll tell you guys what i remember of my time with chemotherapy and the radiation.
Complication
The starting point of my project was the analysis of our everyday environment, focusing primarily on the objects that surround us and our relationship to them. A significant portion of our lives is spent interacting with items that frequently come into the center of our attention â yet most of the time we hardly acknowledge their presence. These objects nonetheless carry the traces of social, cultural, economic, and natural processes; they may be the sources or aims of our actions, and can even become active participants in events.
I was particularly interested in their role within the human world: how we perceive them, and how closely we are connected to them. How do seemingly contradictory elements â the organic and the artificial â exist side by side? And how can this be captured through photography?
The boundaries between the organic and inorganic, the planar and spatial, the digital and analog dimensions appearing in the images reflect these oppositions. They symbolize the differences between the constructed world and organic life, yet through their interweaving a certain harmony is created.
Here, the object appears stripped down, reinterpreted on a conceptual level â at times as a symbol of body parts or alternative prosthetics.

Projektem kiindulĂłpontja a mindennapi környezetĂŒnk vizsgĂĄlata volt, amely sorĂĄn elsĆsorban a minket körĂŒlvevĆ tĂĄrgyak Ă©s a hozzĂĄjuk fƱzĆdĆ viszonyunk foglalkoztatott. ĂletĂŒnk jelentĆs rĂ©szĂ©t olyan interakciĂłk töltik ki, amelyek e tĂĄrgyakra irĂĄnyulnak â mĂ©gis, legtöbbször Ă©szre sem vesszĂŒk Ćket. Mindezek a dolgok magukon hordozzĂĄk a tĂĄrsadalmi, kulturĂĄlis, gazdasĂĄgi Ă©s termĂ©szeti folyamatok lenyomatait; lehetnek cselekvĂ©seink forrĂĄsai vagy cĂ©ljai, sĆt egyes helyzeteknek akĂĄr aktĂv szereplĆi is.
Ărdekelt, hogy milyen szerepet töltenek be az emberi vilĂĄgban, hogyan lĂĄttatjuk Ćket, Ă©s mennyire szoros kapcsolat köt minket hozzĂĄjuk. Hogyan fĂ©rhet meg egymĂĄs mellett az elsĆ lĂĄtĂĄsra ellentĂ©tes organikus Ă©s mestersĂ©ges elem? Ăs mindezt mikĂ©nt lehet megragadni a fotogrĂĄfia eszközeivel?
A kĂ©peken megjelenĆ organikusâszervetlen, sĂkbeliâtĂ©rbeli, illetve digitĂĄlisâanalĂłg dimenziĂłk között hĂșzĂłdĂł hatĂĄrok az ellentĂ©tekre reflektĂĄlnak. A konstruĂĄlt vilĂĄg Ă©s az organikus Ă©let közötti kĂŒlönbsĂ©geket szimbolizĂĄljĂĄk, ugyanakkor összefonĂłdĂĄsuk rĂ©vĂ©n harmĂłnia jön lĂ©tre.
Ebben a projektben a tĂĄrgy lecsupaszĂtva, fogalmi szinten, ĂșjraĂ©rtelmezve jelenik meg, helyenkĂ©nt testrĂ©szek vagy alternatĂv protĂ©zisek szimbĂłlumakĂ©nt.

Her labor was normal â and then her heart stopped. A new mom's fight to recover after rare complication
Jennifer Choateâs pregnancy was uncomplicated â until it wasnât. Two and a half weeks before her March 6, 2025 due date, the 27-year-old went to the emergency room at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center after experiencing headaches and high blood pressure. Doctors thought Choate might be suffering from preeclampsia and induced labor. Her fiancĂ©e rushed to her side.âŠ
