hello! will you all ever show up at the Carrollton library again? i'm so so sad that i missed the GamePlay event in April, so i wanted to ask. thank you!
yes! we are planning on doing another GamePlay event there in September, i believe on the 19th unless we need to move it. I was really sad, i had to miss showing myself this latest one too cuz I got sick beforehand... u_u so i'm glad we're already gonna do another one!
How do you induce and reversely wake friends from stasis? Is it a involuntary thing? Very curious ~ build-a-buddy (excuse the main blog lol)
Hm.
This is a very good question.
I'm not sure if I can explain this perfectly, but I'll try.
So, the friends here are aware of the concepts of "containers"--bins, boxes, bags, etc. And they are aware of the fact that, when they go into a container, they are most likely going to be asleep. To them it will feel like laying down to go to bed, and as soon as they are in the container and the lid is closed, stasis begins.
We try to keep all the friends comfortable and happy beforehand so none of them worry because as soon as that lid comes off again, they all wake up. And they only remember what happened directly before the lid went on. So, we never throw friends in the containers or handle them roughly or just cram 'em in there with no regard for their soft bodies, and we never, ever, initiate stasis if we are in a foul mood.
So really, it's more a situational thing than an "internal" thing, if that makes sense.
Like, they "sleep" in real life, when it's dark, and they retain consciousness so they can still look around and communicate with each other if they don't feel like actually sleeping, and they keep residents safe during the night by watching guard if they want. But when they're in stasis, they don't interact. Almost as if they are in suspended animation. And the act of opening that lid up, untying the bag, unfolding the box, and letting in the new day and new air, wakes them up, as if no time had passed at all. Like they blinked their eyes and nothing changed, except where they were sitting perhaps.
Anyway, I hope that answered your question in some way haha. I'm still always searching for ways to describe this.

3, 9, 10, 18 for the soft asks :>
Thank you for the asks~!
3. whatās your favorite candle scent?
I donāt think we have one in particular, but we do stock up on candles around autumn to use throughout the year. We like pretty much anything with a āwarm, baked goodsā scent. The one weāre on right now is ātoasted pecan & cinnamonā and it pretty much just smells like baking cinnamon rolls.
9. what calms you down?
Ahhh depends, really. Most of us are calmed by taking a shower or being otherwise in water. Some of us are calmed by pressing our ear to our husbandās chest and listening to his heartbeat, or having him hold us. Some of us hold an icecube to the inside of our wrist. Reki in particular is calmed by taking walks late at night....thatās about all I can think of at the moment.
10. whatās something youāre excited for?
The month of March is a bunch of big dates for us: our birthday, husbandās birthday, and our anniversary. We celebrate it all by taking a week off to spend time together and do whatever we want--sometimes travel, mostly just relax together. So Iām looking forward to that. And one of those days weāre going to visit my sibling and Iāll get to meet their first girlfriend, which Iām very excited for.
18. do you still love stuffed animals?
We do, very much so. We sleep with a raccoon stuffed animal every night (heās usually cuddled between husband and us.) I used to have a giant collection of stuffed animals when I was a kid--Iām hoping to pass most of them down to my nieces so they can enjoy a mountain of plushies too.

I just wanted to share that I might be applying for a service dog (specifically a guide ā I am visually impaired) either this year, or next! I have a few qualms so itās not a confirmed thing, but the prospect is exciting nonetheless and I thought you guys would appreciate hearing about it ^u^
Oh goodness, this is awesome!! Weāre so happy for you!! Service dogs are awesome helpers and Iām sure one would be amazing for you. It can be an up and down process, of course, but donāt lose hope even if there is a setback. <3
And hey, if you or anyone else needs fundraising support, join our email list so you can hear about when our service dog sponsorship applications open!

companionwolf said: Donāt worry much about it. Often dreams are the brain sorting thru subconscious thoughts and feelings; it may be true you are sad, but are repressing it, and so the brains attempts to work thru it via dream. Dreams are also heavily influenced by media or thoughts/emotions/feelings experienced before sleep. TLDR: subcon has stuff rattling around, brain is trying to make sense of it or simply clear it out, youāre most likely ok and donāt need to worry much about if it has waking life significance.
hmm my brainās a lil bitch for makin me think realistically sad stuff so early in the morning >://
