The One Field That Breaks Most Pre-Lodged Entries
A pre-lodged entry needs the same fields as any standard CDS declaration: EORI numbers, commodity code, customs value and valuation method, procedure code, country of origin and dispatch, transport and location details, and licence references.
Because you file before arrival, the expected port is easy to treat as a minor detail. In practice, an incorrect port reference is one of the most frequent reasons a pre-lodged entry fails to match at the frontier, as covered in this pre-lodged CDS declaration checklist.
A quick second check of the port and date before submission catches most of these problems early.
