365 Day Movie Challenge - #194: Committed (2000) - dir. Lisa Krueger
I caught this bizarrely great little movie on Netflix Instant. In some ways it reminded me of Arizona Dream, except that that movie is terrible and this movie is really enjoyable. Heather Graham is better than I'd ever seen her as Joline, a woman determined to keep her marriage together even after husband Luke Wilson moves halfway across the country. There are great supporting performances from Casey Affleck, Goran Visnjic, Patricia Velasquez, Alfonso Arau, Mark Ruffalo, Kim Dickens, Clea DuVall, Summer Phoenix, Art Alexakis, Mary Kay Place and Dylan Baker. The story is well thought out and the cinematography by Tom Krueger is atmospheric. Watch this movie!
