Commit Trepidation: I have been working for the last week or so on my first actual feature--not a change request, but the first time that I have built a new aspect of the web service from scratch. It's giving our service the ability to listen and respond to a button that might be set up (any time, any where, just when you least expect it!) on one of our pages, but with content and attributes and behaviour completely authored by another department.
I've really enjoyed working on it; in fact, it's been some of my most enjoyable time here so far as I've had the chance to pair program with one of my team members.
However, I'm realizing that I have some Commit Anxiety as I'm finishing it up. Is it really done? Is this code with my name on it entirely ready to go out into the world? Am I sure? It's a little nerve wracking getting ready for my first built-from-scratch functionality to go and play with the big boys.
Not committed nor merged yet. I'll keep you posted.
