Inspired by Commentarious Lily and her love of the scarf⊠Not actually Commentarious lily Marlene stood amused, arms folded across her chest leaning in the doorway watching her friend frantically dig and dive into a mound of clothes. Copper tangles of hair flying up as skirts and jumpers go air born. Lily looked up at her friend sheepishly half buried. âUmm Iâm just looking for somethingâ she says as if itâs the most normal thing to be doing on a Saturday. Marlene chuckles â I can see thatâŠI like your style sort of crazed tramp digging for buried treasure?â She quips Lily sighs and flops backwards into the clothesâŠâI just need it Marls⊠itâs super pathetic and I know it probably means something but i. ..â mumbling off into the silence not wanting to admit too much Marlene walks over and plonks herself unceremoniously down next to Lily âfirstly what are you looking for, maybe I can help?â âa scarfâŠI had it yesterday it has to be hereâ Lily says and begins furiously digging again in the pile Marlene joins in happy to help digging away. A few minutes later they both slump back, dishevelled and disheartened âyou can just borrow mine lilyâŠI donât mindâŠcâmon we should head down to the pitchâ Malene says trying to lighten the mood standing up. Lily smiles at her friends kindness âThanks Marls but Iâve got my own..it will just have to doâ Marlene turned to her quizzicallyâŠâthen whose scarf have we been looking for?â she asks A slow blush creeps up over Lilyâs skin as she avoid eye contact with Marlene âPottersâ she whispers. Marlene screeches almost instantly, giggling and jumping around pulling lily into a boisterous hug..âjeeez finallyâŠwait he has his scarf..i saw one on him, he was playing with the tassels in the common room..ââŠshe finishes looking towards lily âOohâ Lily draws out his face falling. âWell at least we know where it is..â  Marlene says trying to sound helpful They both make their way down to the pitch, Marlene happily distracting Lily with tales of Sirius in the broom closet. Lily trying her hardest not to over think the theft of her (his) scarf. It didnât mean anything anyway rightâŠthey were just friends now, she thinks tying her own scarf tighter around her neck feeling oddly colder in the bright sunshine. They find some seats as everyone begins to filter into the stands âIâm just going to grab some snacks, you want anything?â Marlene askesâŠLily just shakes her head looking glumly out towards the locker rooms. She doesnât notice Marleneâs eyes fix on a red and gold figure coming in their direction or the smirk that settles on her face. Lily only looks up when she is boisterously jostled and turns to find a rather tall James Potter blocking the sun. âyou didnât come and get it back?â he says sitting down next to her She turns to look at himâŠmore confused than ever ..âYouâre and dirty thiefâ she whispers  âPardon I didnât quite catch that?â James says moving closer âThief! I said youâre a thiefâ she exclaims louder than she wanted.  James backs up a bitâŠâI know I just thoughtâŠit was silly..here have itâ He says taking it off and offering it to her âif you want it I mean, youâve obviously got your own, you probably donât need two. But well itâs just for ya know ..s.sâŠ.goodluck or somethingâ He mumbles off feeling his face heat up. Lily turns to him, melting slightly at his awkwardness and takes the scarf from his hand âI doâŠwant it, I just⊠this morning when I couldnât find itâŠI sort of turned the dormitory upside downâŠMarlene thought I was looking for buried treasureâ she said. James smirked at this âmy scarfs your treasure eh..â âno... it just looked like I⊠Marlene said I wasâŠoh it doesnât matterâ she says and smiles as she quickly focuses on replacing her scarf with his. She holds her own scarf out to him âI think you should have thisâŠ..just in case you get cold because, well, Iâm keeping this and putting an anti-theft charm on itâ she says very seriously James sits there grinning. Out of the corner of his eye he can see his team start to emerge from the stands, part of him wants to stay here a little longer, but heâs feeling awfully lucky all of a sudden so he moves to stand only to find lilys hand tugging on his own. He turns to her and finds her close, he can make out the freckles that dance across her cheeksâŠâjamesâŠâShe whispers âI hope you winâ and she leans forwards and touches her lips softly to the corner of his mouth. She sits back almost shocked at her self and searches his face for some sort of emotion. âdid you justâŠâ james begins âyeah..i just wanted to give you a good luck peck on the cheekâ lily mumbles James is silent for what to Lily feels is forever âyou know itâs going to be a pretty tough match I might need anotherâ  he smiles looking at her like it was Christmas and his birthday have come all in one go. Lily laughs âwell maybe you need something more than a peckâŠâ But James doesnât wait he brings his lips to touch hers as his hand cradles her head. He feels her respond almost immediately pushing harder against him opening her mouth slightly and lightly sucking on his lower lip causing him to groan into her before pulling away âIf we win, will you go to Hogsmede with me tonightâŠfor dinnerâ James splutters out excitedly. âJamesâŠ..Iâll go even if you donât winâ she smiles James stands and reaches over tightening the scarf around her. âI think I have all the luck in the world today â He smiles then dives off to play the quickest game of quidditch of the year, beating Slytherin by a huge margin and embarking on his first date with Lily.
