Speaking in a purely hypothetical sense, if autocorrect from your phone conspires against you or you have issues typing properly with your thumbs, wait a full minute after composing anything before tapping the alluring ‘post’ button. Edit your comment like it is a resume cover letter, searching for any glitch or grammatical error. Do NOT get complacent and trust your phone (mine is apparently named Will Chen). Because when you see that your comment is marred by a horrible gaffe that you want to amend immediately, you will think the following (yet still hypothetically): "Oh! Let me hasten to repair my grave error by leaving a second comment that points out what is truly at fault..." <cue glare to phone/thumbs/autocorrect> '... and I shall absolve myself of internet fail. Huzzah!"
Confident in your plan of redemption, you'll leave such a comment -- and erase your first witticism, highlight your ineptitude, and now feel even worse than you did before. At this point, damage control is not an option. Hang your head and take a time out.
