Why does Commander Meng always look like his armor is two sizes too big? I thought it was just the armor style, but then I realized that Prince Jing’s armor doesn’t look so . . .silly and oversized.

There is much badness in the world today, so I will just offer up some screenshots of Commander Meng the first time he meets xiao-Shu again. I love that you can see his recognition, and his playing along. Just a small reminder that there is much good still in this world, and one of those things is a character like Meng-dage. On the topic of Meng-dage's concern for xiao-Shu, it is really sweet that he's so worried about his old friend and little bro figure. I love this scene because you can tell that Meng is trying to figure out what the hell happened so that xiao-Shu would hardly be a shadow of the person he used to be, and he's also feeling bad because he can't fathom how much pain and suffering that xiao-Shu has gone through these past 12 years. It hurts him a little just thinking about it. He's so worried for his friend. IT'S SO CUTE. This is our puppy commander, my friends. He even invited xiao-Shu to live at his place, because he couldn't bear the thought of him placing himself in danger at Xie Yu's place. This has been your Commander Meng appreciation post of the day. Rewatched episode 39 last night, which is again one of my favorites because you really get to see how well Mei Changsu’s plans come together to take down Xuanjing Bureau. It’s just beautiful.
I love how fierce our favorite Commander Meng when he flashes the Imperial Seal, and it’s like, “Oh no, I’m not here to summon you, I’m here to jail your ass and seize this place.” Just, the intense look in his eyes is amazeballs. (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧
I love also how Xia Jiang resists, and they cut away from the fight, because you know that Meng is going take him down in no time. I’m a little sad that they don’t actually show it (I will always advocate for more Meng screen time), but I get why they didn’t because it’s dramatic as hell.
And then he looks so worried when he sees what bad shape xiao-Shu is in, and how it does hurt him to see that his old friend and little bro is doing so poorly. He’s so concerned, but also so incensed that Xia Jiang has done something she he doesn’t know what it is.
Meng-dage’s caring for his friends goes so deep.
