This weekend marked my VERY first TABLE Comic Book Convention!!!! Ā Now normally in the past, I would just show up at Comic Con and wander around handing out my postcards, drumming up interest and basically doing publicity for my Comic Book series. Ā I didnāt think I had enough material to warrant a table in the past BUT now that I have 5 issues out, I figured I have enough to start marketing a bit more. Ā I signed up for a table at Stan Leeās Comic Con!!!!!!! Ā I asked for a corner table in the Small Press area and low and behold, I actually was set up in a corner table!!!! YAYA me!!!!!Ā Ā
Now this past month, leading into the Con, I have been slaving away, gathering my merchandise and staying up late to ready myself for my first Con. Ā I even learned how to sew because I wanted to have Golden capes to sell. Ā What person doesnāt want a Golden Cape???Ā Ā
How did my first Con go? Ā AMAZINGLY Fantastic!!! Ā Having a table is a hustle. Ā You are trying to get as many people to check you out. Ā You are calling out to them from far away and you are basically doing all you can to get them to buy all that you have to sell. Ā I am a natural whore at the hustle! Ā I enticed as many people as I could and then some. Ā I even got yelled at by an insecure dick who had a table across from my table. Ā Iām sorry if me saying hi out loud distracts your potential buyer from listening to your shtick, perhaps you should come up with a different tactic. Ā Other then the insecure dick, everyone else around me was super nice. Ā I even tried to get people to check out other tables while whoring myself.Ā Ā
I met some great people with connects. Ā Cross your fingers they all work out! Ā I even was interviewed! Ā So exciting. Ā I even acquired a stalker!Ā Ā
This guy, approached my table, the gold attracted him, or my butt. He seemed interested in my series but actually was more interested in asking me out on a date, which he did after coming back to my table. Ā He asked for my number but I offered my email instead. Ā He was a little bit of a creepier and I definitely was not attracted to him, soooo the email was the only information he was getting from me. Ā Plus he didnāt even buy my book to show support, thatās a no noā¦. Ā He claimed he is a nice guy but nice guys buy a girlās book! Ā I donāt trust people when they say they are the ānice onesā, in my book, it means they are actual jerks! Weāll seeā¦.
To close, I had a successful weekend, an Amazing Con. Ā I definitely canāt complain. Ā My series reach new audiences, new heights. Ā The sky is the limit and my empire is being built!
