The only objective criteria I have for this list is that the series must have published issues in 2018.Β Otherwise, these are just the titles I enjoyed the most, the ones I looked forward to every single issue.Β Most of these titles come as no surprise, even in their ordering.Β

Five titles are returning from 2017:Β East of West reclaims the top spot because who knows if Black Monday Murders will ever publish again.Β Saga moved up five spots from seventh.Β Giant Days dropped one spot from fourth.Β Royal City moved up two spots from eighth.Β Grass Kings dropped two spots from sixth.
Five new titles made the list, though only one is a real surprise.Β The Highest House, Isola, Paper Girls, and Coda are all from creative teams I adore and I had high expectations for each book that they more than lived up to.Β Paper Girls just missed out on the Top Ten in 2017 but Iβve loved every issue in 2018.Β X-Men Red is the series that truly surprised me.Β Tom Taylor gave us a story that was an almost perfect response to 2018 in the United States.Β In a year full of darkness, this story was so full of hope.
I suppose this is that time for reflection, right? What can I say? It has been an interesting year in comics in contrast to the years before. Normally I like to just do my own thing and go with the flow, but this was one of those years where it felt like you needed to shout a little louder if you are someone who loves comics and want to see the world progress. Back then, that wouldnβt have beenβ¦
