So as not to start possible shit on someone else's post
If you utter the phrase, "I'm not willing to pay full price to read a comic legally on a website" [or some variation thereof], and THAT is your excuse for torrenting comics:
You are. Literally. The problem.
You are. You fucking are. Look, there's some comics I look at on Comixology, and I go, "You know, I don't know that that's worth $3.99 an issue." And so I DON'T BUY IT.
AND THEN I DON'T TORRENT IT. Because, if I don't want to spend money on it, WHY THE SHIT WOULD I SPEND TIME ON IT.
If it doesn't seem like it's worth 3.99, THEN DON'T FUCKING GET IT AT ALL.
And, OMG, I am so goddamn sorry that you look at Comixology making it possible to read digital comics without a fucking tablet or specialized program and COMPLAIN about it. You're right. It's just so not cool that a website makes it possible for you to read ALL YOUR COMICS IN ONE PLACE. How much does it suck, right? I mean, my god, you have to go to ONE PLACE to read your comics, and you don't run the risk of possibly getting arrested for it.
Look, if you don't want to pay money for you comics and you don't like Comixology, get a goddamn library card, would you? Because authors get royalties from library check-outs. They do. So, if you don't want to spend money on your hobby (or if you don't have the money for your hobby), hit up your library and check out your options. You get your stories for free, and the creators get a little cash, and the library gets a little business, and everyone fucking wins, all right?
And if your library has the world's saddest graphic novel collection? Talk to a librarian about how you can help GET a good comics selection. Or see if the library does inter-library loans with libraries that HAVE a good selection.
There are ways to read comics without stabbing the industry in the goddamn eye.
