After reading The Flash (2016) #769, I want to say that I loved Gold Beetle and I think sheās an awesome character. Iām already a fan! The only thing that it kind of made me feel a bit sad, is that again, superheroes are being a bit of an ass.
I understand that superheroes are meant to make you feel good, see a bright side of āhumanityā, make you want to be a better person and in some stories, you can even relate to them. But I also feel kind of bad and annoyed that they also get to be JUST like anybody else, and the moment they donāt like someone, they team up to be the bullies in school.
As you can see, Barry realizes that she is part of Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, and heās like uh, maybe you should get away from her, Wally. Which it frankly sucks. More so when it comes from such a nice, kind dork like Barry- and here this is just an echo of how G&B used to be treated, like jokes.Ā
Most heroes didnāt care how Michael felt or how desperate he had to be to get money in ānot ethical hero waysā, nor care how smart and intelligent Ted was, nor how suspicious he was about what was happening with the case that ended up killing him.
And it makes me bad, because if my heroes are asshole to other āminorā heroes... I donāt feel like having them as my heroes anymore. :/
I really, really hope that none of theseĀ ābig heroesā ever dare to treat Gold Beetle like that. If they dare to repeat their ugly behavior to her, Iām gonna get mad because this is awful. This is bullying. They are not being empathetic, and instead, they prefer to isolate someone they donāt like. Donāt you dare to be an ass to Booster & Beetleās love child or dgdwiufhwihfewhjkef!!!!
