Constantly forgetting to kill Yamaguchi-sensei haunts me to this day. I don't want to kill him off without giving Rin a focused character arc--otherwise it's less charitable to his character than the average victim on a crime drama--but now here we are. Years later.

Tricky one!

So back in the day, Mirror Image was specifically written to the song The Other Side by Woodkid (lyrics are even header quotes). Back then PbP wasn’t really planned, the fic was just a creepy horror-vibe story for Halloween that happened to involve Kuron. I don’t think it’d be a good fit for the series overall. 

It took me more than an hour of browsing through my music before I found a song I thought would fit the series as a whole in its themes of found family, figuring out who you are, accepting one another and general vibe, but I think this one could work. I’m not 100% sold on it, but it’s better than anything else I’ve found:

✨ - which fanfiction are you most proud of and why?

I’m proud of so many fics for so many different reasons! Currently it’s definitely Premium Pandemonium just because I’ve put so much work into it (it’s been in the works for well over a year and a half now). I’m also very proud of Parallel by Proxy as a whole, because I’ve never written such a long and collective series before and it’s been really interesting to keep it evolving. I’m also still proud of Prince of Memory even years later, because I had a crystal-clear image in my head and the end result still more or less reflects that, and it’s one of those fics that sort of just...flowed out of me without needing much wrangling to get it to happen.

👎 - what is something you won’t ever write about?

Romantic or sexual themes. They just aren’t my cup of tea. Since I’m aro/ace, I literally can’t wrap my head around either of these things, and in the case of sexual things, it even makes me very uncomfortable. I don’t know how to write it and I have no interest in writing it, so I won’t do it. 

🎨 - if you could ask for any kind of fanart for a certain fic or fic scene, what would it be?

Honestly I’m delighted when I get fan art at all. But if I had to pic from certain fics, I’d say probably my most visual ones. Things like Pillar in the Dark or Whisper in the Dark, Phantasmagoria, or The Greatest Challenge, or any of the crossover fics that borrow from another visual media (Altar of Storms, Knights of Lion, Genesis, or Premium Pandemonium). Either of the two crossover fics I did with @bosstoaster would be interesting too (Familiar Faces and Two Tickets to Paradise) just for the combination of interesting background visuals and two Ryous for the price of one.

💭 - any fanfiction ideas you’re not sure on writing about?

Not really. Generally speaking if I think an idea would make a good fic, I write it. Or I would be interested in writing about it, but I lose interest/move on to another fandom/etc. But I don’t usually have cases of ‘well I’d like to write this but I don’t know if I should.’

I do imagine a lot of story ideas to myself for my own entertainment that I know wouldn’t really do well as fanfiction, but that’s mostly self indulgence. I like envisioning ‘bad endings’ for stories, for example, with angst or character death. But I know those are downer kinds of stories that don’t make good reading material, so I never bother to write and post them. 

oooh editor oc liking savory/spicy foods is a galaxy brain idea, i'm a big fan. xiangling likes spicy food as well so they'd get along on that but editor would have to dredge up more patience to deal with her more outlandish culinary ventures haha. barbara likes spicy food too so i imagine they're friends and hang out when editor oc is in mondstadt!

i asked because with regards to what i said about being able to see ningguang taking you under her wing, i can picture you working for the qixing in some capacity if you lived in teyvat hahaha, and going to mondstadt on business/diplomacy trip where you make friends with the knights and they're all very sad when you have to return :3 but you'd have to be in liyue for that. maybe you're originally from fontaine and moved to liyue? that's what i imagine now anyway. who, me? as for me—i don't feel i can say where i'd be from until we know more about the other countries ^^" but same for irl parallels, i'd be from liyue. but from what little i know of fontaine i get the vibe i wouldn't mind being from there either. so, hey! samesies

You seriously big-brained with this :i_am_looking_with_admiration: Me working for the qixing and travelling around for business trips... Seeing that I myself am a foodie (both desserts and savory I just like food), I’ll probably get random cravings for Fontaine dishes while in Liyue... and then Liyue and Mondstadt ones while in Fontaine sigh it’s always like this. Also hmm maybe in that case you’re originally from Liyue/Fontaine but travel a lot? Imagine if you always had a place to stay no matter the nation haha, like either you know people or you work for some higher-ups like the Qixing/Feiyun Commerce Guild/the bank and so they can easily arrange a comfy place for you haha
