All the times keisuke has been subjected to a timeline/universe when mere she has foreknowledge she can’t prove has made me wonder why SI OC’s don’t make use of Cassandra as a common motif.

She should be like fucking Icarus in this genre. Maybe I just haven’t run into her yet.

I think Kei is one of the most successful of the Naruto SI OC's, because by the time you went on hiatus (I hope) she'd already dealt with or neutralized so many canon threats. So what I want to say is, thank you so much for writing Catch Your Breath and all the other stories featuring the fifth (after the TMNT :P) best turtle out there :3

It helps that Kei managed to keep enough people alive to delegate. Saving the future on one's own is nigh-impossible.

Die hard kaguya-and-Boruto-ignorer, like I will never watch that show.

But I do wonder about Keisuke when she an older adult. Obviously the whole world is entirely different because she worked overtime making it not suck.

Does she get to rest on her laurels when she’s in her thirties onward?

Mood. I pick and choose what I want from canon at the best of times, and the spinoff-sequel is generally Not My Jam.

She kind of does! While the ninja world is generally a war-torn hellscape to a greater or lesser degree, Kei's generally trying to line things up so most of the unusually nasty threats get sniped before her students grow up entirely. She doesn't always succeed, but hey. Would be nice to get to retire instead of worrying if the moon might explode next week.

Though realistically, most shinobi of her strength tier don't die of old age.

Okay so like I binged CYB and OSF all in one go, and is now reading Shellgame, but the Tanabata chapter had me questioning something.

Did Obito and/or Kakashi ever find out about Rin's feelings for Kei? Like, I wanna know their reactions so bad.. ㅠㅠ

Kakashi did, but didn't comment on it because he figured it was a private moment between Rin and Kei, and if he interfered it would not go well. Obito is one of those people who, by default, metronomes between Too Hype and Just Vibing, so he missed the entire thing because he wasn't paying attention.

Bambi movie gets put here bc I watched it so often as a kid my siblings destroyed the vhs tape to stop me from watching it. I got the DVD a few years later when that came out but it wasn't the same. And I haven't watched it since. I don't even have any strong feelings towards it. But any list of favorites of all time has to honor that at one point I clearly loved the movie enough to watch it to the point the vhs tape itself had degraded to near unwatchabililty and prompted my siblings to murder the deer in cold blood.

Troy 2004 isn’t good at all. They god rid of the gods to try to make the plot more plausible. And I’m not sitting on it in a ‘I reflexively hate on adaptions that try anything new way.’ Reimagining a story that revolves around destiny in a secular idiom is a cool idea!

But this decision removed half the cast and a lot of the driving motivations for the plot.

Like, the figures with very human, often petty whims, and the power to enforce their wills on two opposing armies were load bearing characters.

It was actually a good idea, but they didn’t introduce anything that could do the heavy lifting the gods could do

My entire knowledge of Troy (2004) is that Brad Pitt is in it and there are no gods.

We know from that one filler movie that Naruto really gets into film.

Do your think he’d get caught up in the lord of the rings hype that’s contemporary to 2002 Batfam?

Would he unironically like Troy 2004 (not out by then but I wonder).

Naruto is very into simple, well-told tales of drama and action. If the aesthetic was a little different, I get the feeling he’d be very into the LOTR movies if he was sold on the action sequences first.

Having not seen Troy (2004), he could have liked it just fine. But I’m no expert there.

Though basically any complexity would go straight over his head in either case. Maybe he should stick to things like Die Hard? Big summer action blockbusters in general would be a safe choice.
