Like...yea, man...it's the #soulstriprecordchallenge , brought to you by @kitten_e_face and @uncle_seabass ! Day 20: Comedy Album Cheech and Chong - Big Bambu [Ode Records, 1972] Fifteen is a really good age to get into Cheech and Chong. At that point, channels like Starz was showing movies like "Cheech and Chong's Next Movie" and "Cheech and Chong's Things Are Tough All Over" incessantly, and I watched every time. Their brand of stoner humor was my kind of crazy and the now-vintage look of it all (1980 looked familiarly strange in 1995) was my aesthetic for laughs and a good time. When the albums came into play for myself, it was a hilarious bit after another, exposing some of the future characters in their movies and so on. While my all-time favorite album of theirs is "Wedding Album", we give up the funk to BIG BAMBU! From "Sister Mary Elephant" on down to "Let's Make a Dope Deal", it is a hilarious trip through the counterculture with the two best friends you didn't know you had...but you're glad they're there. And it came with a large rolling paper. That's just crafty and unique album packaging right there! #albumchallenge #vinylchallenge #februarychallenge #cheechandchong #bigbambu #comedyrecord #dopeness #chrislebrane
