Matcha Tea isnāt listed as a menu option here (I was rung up for the price of a regular matcha latte). I think thatās for good a reason- Without milk or sweetener, this matcha is visibly discolored and almost undrinkably astringent. The color is swampy and brownish, and the taste is bitter. There arenāt visible or tasteable clumps or grains, so the milling and the whisking are acceptable.
After sitting, the matcha powder sediment separated at the bottom is brown and fine, reincorporating with a single stir. If I had to guess, this is definitely a culinary grade powder (astringent), probably oxidized (color), and potentially brewed at an incorrect temperature (tannic taste) although I didnāt see how the barista brewed it.
I like Carnegie coffee co and come here sometimes with friends, but itās certainly not a matcha loversā spot.
