Systema/Russian Martial Art
Well, it never ceases to amaze me. I've been doing Systema since 1997 with Vladimir Vasiliev and am still learning the lesson of the loop. What is the loop....well it seems that after having a eureka thought about how I can shortcut my training and achieve mastery even sooner, I end up going in a long complete circle that places me usually further from my main goal. I'll have to ask Vlad if he still feels like he needs three more lifetimes to fullfill his own idea of mastery like I have embeded on my DNA it seems. Get used to it now, I go off on tangents every 42 seconds. Back to the to the original thought. Mastery in all combat comes down to a few abilities that every warrior should be seeking, and having achieved those, maintaining those abilities. Ask yourself just a few questions at first so you don't feel like a complete failure and feel overwelmed.
1/ Do I have enough dynamic flexibility available to me at all times or would I risk being injured if I had to perform at any given moment. Oh yes, there are secrets to this training and I don't think I've met anyone who knows how to gain this outside of Systema. Most Systema folk don't even know how to achieve this. Not a judgement just a observation. I will let you in on this simple training in future posts soon. Most people are completely blown away with just how simple this training is and how little time you need to spend on it....like about 10 minutes a week.
2/ Have I trained my body and mind together and separately to be able to shed excess tension that only slows down and destroys my awareness, reactions, and my fluid sync movement. Tension destroys everything. It exists in the body, the mind or both at once. As Dell used to say....thanks for playing.
