Was in Ashran the other day getting my strongbox for the week. Heard in vent someone complaining about how Blizzard was forcing Combat Rogues to become pirates. She said she wanted to be a spymaster, a scout, and a master of deceit, not a drunk and a swashbuckling pirate. She accused Blizzard of "telling me that my definition of fun was wrong."

After she finally gave others in vent a chance to respond, some ostensibly disagreed, reminding her that Combat, by its nature and name as opposed to Subtlety, was more about fighting in the open and less about sneaking like a spymaster.

She refused this train of thought and continued to drive home her offended stance that Blizzard was changing her beloved specc into something she did not identify with. There us much to be said for that sentiment, as shadow priests might feel conflicted in being rolled into association with Twilight Cultists... but rogues have actual diversity, actual choice. Three specs that each cover a different aspect of their broad sneakiness.
