#AlbumOfTheDay #NowSpinning #NowPlaying Between the Buried and Me - "Coma Ecliptic" 2015 - I've listened to BTBAM since I was introduced to them in high school through their breakthrough album "Colors" which solidified their place among the greats of progressive metal, but was never super into them. That is, until this record. I'm not sure what it was that finally got this band and their style to click for me, but I'm happy it did. Having listened to their discography many times over at this point, I think I can say this album is one of my favorites. Many people disliked it, having come from "Parallax II: Future Sequence" expecting something crazy technical and heavy, but I feel like this album is BTBAM showing their maturity as a group and as individual musicians. It's a concept album, following a man who puts himself into a self-induced coma to find a more perfect reality through his past lives. The music is very fluid and the story is riveting, with an ending that goes out with a bang.
