Huge broken rice plates, cheap prices…there’s a lot to like about this no frills Vietnamese broken rice plate restaurant.

The menu is enormous. They have appetizers, pho, bun bo hue, many types of broken rice plates (starting at $5.50), vermicelli bowls, rice porridge, noodle soups, and Vietnamese drinks

*Com tam thuan kieu #16 ($10.99): with shredded pork, steamed egg, shrimp paste, bean curd skin with shrimp, grilled shrimp, Chinese sausage, egg rolls, grilled meatballs, and grilled pork, it’s enough food for 2 people with a ton of broken rice and tangy nuoc nam on the side. We didn’t eat it right away so things that were supposed to be crispy (e.g., egg rolls) probably lost their crispiness. The egg rolls that were filled with silver noodles, ground pork and carrots were still delicious. The grilled pork was disappointing though, because the pork was not tender and didn’t have much lemongrass flavor. The pickled cabbage on the side was super good – crunchy, garlicky, tangy, sweet. I also really liked the steamed egg omelette with ground pork, there’s something comforting about it. The shrimp items weren’t as exciting.
