omg my reputation exceeds me, that post was from 4 years ago. 

b/c i’m not interested in hearing more about how the characters needs to suffer for their happiness when season two had enough of that kind of shit. i dont really care about the intention of that comment, it just reminded me exactly why i was wary about season three in the first place.

im not interested in seeing laura and carmilla suffer any more than they already have the last season.

Sure! Girl Guides is a scouting organization that was originally an offshoot from Boy Scouts, so the two have a great deal of overlap in activities– in both you’ll learn various knots, hiking and outdoor survival skills, camping, campfire songs, etcetera. 

Another big focus is female empowerment; we do a lot of charity projects for women’s organizations in other  countries– there’s often a meeting devoted to violence against women– and we have an entire component of the program devoted to STEM. We get a lot of female environmental engineers, doctors, and so on to come in and show them activities, and a lot of it actually helped me in high school science classes later on. Obviously it’s not really heavy stuff for, you know, ten-year-olds, more like experiments with water in bottles to show how the weather works, stuff like that. 

Guiding also has a big history of environmental awareness, and the promise and law have been modified in recent years to reflect this (”I will take action for a better world,” “respect our common environment”) where we learn about local endangered species endemic to the region. When I was in Girl Guides, we participated in the Canadian Shoreline Cleanup and the Everett Crowley Park tree-planting on Earth Day. 

There’s also cookie selling, which is a fucking slog, but I mean, they taste awesome and fund all of our activities. It got me pretty used to marketing, handling money and going door-to-door at a young age, so, there’s that.

(Also, not quite at the climax yet, still on the part of the roller coaster ride where you’re like slowly being pulled up to the top)

It’s totally cool to sympathize with one of the characters more than the other, I can totally agree I feel hurt for Carmilla and Laura treated her but as long as you can also see where the other character is coming from, and don’t fault them for it and their probably unintentional intentions, then ur view is not wrong, ur good
