Putting a little colour and a lot of funk into this rainy day. In The Right Place by Dr. John has me missing NOLA something fierce this afternoon. I am incredibly passionate about New Orleans - I mean what’s not to love? The people are the most welcoming, unique and charming that I’ve ever met. Anyone you talk to has a story that you could write a novel about. The food. . . ugh. . . I don’t even know where to start with that. I’ve had meals in at the local hot spots in NOLA that literally brought me to tears. Real life tears. But of course, it’s the arts culture that grabs my heart and puts it in a chokehold. There is so much to listen to, and so much to love.
The track Such A Night on this album especially makes me think of walking slowly around the French Quarter in the evening, or perusing the amazing art market on Frenchman street. Lazy and slow, not in too much of a hurry and fully taking in each new experience as it comes.
Well that settles it, guess I am going to have to start looking into planning my third trip down that way! Have you been to NOLA before? What’s your places to go or things to do?
