I did these flowers in a few different mediums. The mess on my hands and the big quarter of a sunflower were made with coloured chalks, the orange flower was created with prismacolour pencils and lastly, the blue flower was created with oil pastels. The chalk sunflower and messy hand was fun to create like all of them, I wanted to play around with composition of the petals and the seeds in the middle. The coloured chalks were easy to work with and blend. I don’t mind getting messy! I enjoy the mess, I find it makes creating art all the more fun. The orange flower I made with my prismacolour pencils were easy to work with and easy to help make the petals stand out overlapping as they would when growing from the grow, shading with these pencils are brilliant! The bright green stem and leaf were also created with my prismacolour pencils and I loved having the range of shades on the leaves giving the flower more depth. The oil pastels were harder for me to work with, I’ve never found working with oil pastels easy but I thought that if I worked with them more then I could grow to them so I’m gradually working more with them.
