GENERAL NOTES:
Still haunted by the idea of David dating Mariah to this day
Jackson is even TREMBLING when he's left alone with Exer! And that look on Exer's eyes... he's noticing itt
Ppl are not afraid or intimidated by Jackson's popularity, unlike Exer, bc he's the new kid. And that must annoy Exer
Exer is starting to get pushed aside for the (probably) first time in a while too
I bet that he's also jelaous bc Jackson is "the perfect guy" who doesn't need any magic to be like "perfect". (maybe that's one of the reasons Exer thought Jackson also had magic?? Because he was way too perfect??)
That pinterest joke abt Argon has forever changed the way I read that scene.
Paola is very good at drawing smiles that are not smiles (at the beggining of S2 Jackson did a lot of these "smiles that are not smiles" and captured his feelings SO WELL) and you can't convince me that Exer is smiling but not smiling here:
(this image is right after Exer's been making Jackson do 2 strikes)
David might be starting to notice Exer's jealously:
(notice the face he's making??)
Jackson hitting on 2 girls in one episode 💀
EXTRA NOTES:
This episode covers a span of an entire week. When Jackon is answering a bunch of questions and being a nerd, his outfits change panel to panel, giving us a hint that each scene is from a different day. We can see a total of 5 different outfits, the first being of the same day of the beginning of the episode, and then we cut back to gym class again. Meaning, there was 5 days of school, weekend, and the gym class again. So, at the end of the episode, is September 12th 1989.
There's green right before Jackson is about to bat right and I KNOW it probably is a way to confuse new readers so they can't know what's happening, but then he guesses where the ball is going to be with his eyes closed?? Maybe he can uncouncsiously "sense" the magic somehow

GENERAL NOTES:
Pam was YELLING at Jackson and still Ron and Day didn't hear anything. Bros are going to be deaf at 30 if they keep listening to music with such a high volume
Following the precious note, Exer was not listening to anything so that means he heard everything, still acts oblivious with Ron and Day. So, all the rambling I did in the previous note was in vain bc it turns out Exer was just going hard on the manipulation
I have to make a collection of Ron bumping his head in the doorsteps
I don't remember very well, but I'm pretty sure that most of the times there's a misunderstanding Day tends to blame himself
I'll keep note of this while re-reading
Also Day's shirt screams 80's
Jackson always tends to isolate himself in his room whenever he feels bad. It's normal to want to be left alone when you're feeling bad, but isolating yourself whenever anything happens is not very good for you. He does this a lot in S2 iirc
Jackson not being able to differentiate hallucinations of reality hurts me soooo much... And ppl brush past that way too much. He LITERALLY couldn't tell reality and hallucinations apart, he started to doubt his own senses, his own SANITY. That was the worst part of Exer's bullying imo. And that's why I understand why it was so hard for Jackson to forgive Exer (and why Diary hasn't forgiven him yet). (important clarification: you can choose not to forgive s1 if they did sth bad to you, but that does NOT give you the right to "make justice" or "pay them back")
Exer making Jackson even look more uncomfortable:
Exer really looks confused and unaware but if you squint like a lot and consider that, well, he knows what's going on and is very much aware of what's happening, you can see the glare under the mask (?)
Ron's thinking face and Exer literally standing 90°
EXTRA NOTES:
Chromatic aberration when the REDs see Jackson leave the record store, when Exer and Pam look at each other, when Jackson sees Pamela coming in the hallway
Black atmosphere when Jackson is running away at the end of the episode
September 17th 1989. And it's also Friday! (IMG: Episode 15)

GENERAL NOTES:
I was reading this ep and someone behind me asked sth, so I turned around and the panel I had in my computer was this:
me and the bros looked at them
I find Exer's acting a bit... odd in this episode, Like, he seems genuinely confused by Jackson's acting.
I'm not sure if he's just acting to seem innocent bc he would need to be super good at acting + he didn't mind hinting some stuff/make fun of Jackson/glare at Jackson before, whereas now he looks unaware and makes no comments
(IMG 1: episode 7, Exer glaring at Jackson. IMG 2: episode 9, Exer broke Jackson's alarm. IMG 3: episode 10, Exer made Jackson go into the ladies' room)
So if he's not acting, that means he really doesn't know what's going on with Jackson, and in order to be unaware he has to be unaware of the magic so... he didn't do this in purpose? I can't find it now, but Exer mentioned at some point that he'd lose control of his magic whenever Jackson was around, and considering how jealous and worried he is bc of Jackson and the link between the magic and emotions, that makes sense. So maybe after Day mentioned the record store, he started thinking abt Pam and accidentally made an imaginary Pamela starting at them?
I don't think this is the case though. It'd be to weird. And also Exer was looking at Day while him and Ron were looking at the window, maybe trying to see their reaction to Jackson being a "weirdo"
So probably Exer's just a really good manipulator
O gosh Jackson yelling at Pam... To think that Pam being mad at him for that was what made Jackson fall for her??? Eww (they're a cute couple but they started off SO BADLY)
EXTRA NOTES:
When everyone turns around to see what Jackson was pointing at (first IMG of this post), the whole panel has a greenish colour but the REDs. Probably showing in a way how they are not affected by the magic.
Green atmosphere whenever an Imaginary Pamela was around
First 2 imaginary Pamelas have greenish glows in their eyes. 3rd doesn't, for some reason
Also forgot to mention in the previous episode note, but in episode 15, when Jackson sees imaginary pamela (last panel) he has a green glow in his eyes
black bg with green stripes when jackson is feeling uncomfortable by pam in the record store
Chromatic aberration in the second panel, when 2nd imaginary pam dissapears, when 3rd imaginary pam shows up, when they're in the record store bonding and exer is keeping his distance, when jackson's feeling uncomfortable by pam in the record store and when jackson yells at pam
I reccomend reading the episode right before reading this, otherwise it might be a little confusing.

GENERAL NOTES:
Y'know, as R&M are in the football team with Day and Exer, I wonder how close they actually are. Or how close each of them think they are. Exer clearly hates R&M. But Day's and R&M might be a little more complicated than that? Idk, the first scene abt the chocolate seemed like sth only close ppl would do to each other. Maybe Day's and R&M's relationship is the toxic version of that
Look at this:
We have a pannel of ppl commenting on Ron's height, then a close up of Ron's face thinking to himself and then a flashback of Jackson calling him "Frankenstein" and being scared of him.
Ron's clearly feeling off place; he's a foreign student in a new country and, to top it off, he has an unusual height that makes him stand out a lot. He must be having a huge cultural shock too.
Also, I've never seen anyone point out that in the Halloween party he dressed as Frankenstein: (IMG: Episode 55)
It's a way to represent him embracing his differences with everybody else.
And also, it is very romantic that Tim fell for Ron when he was being himself at the fullest
Also related to the Frankenstein scene; Jackson sometimes acts impulsively and then regrets it, just like when he yelled at the resolution of the skirt arc
This is also linked to the fight: Jackson impulsively goes and starts a fight with Exer. Like sometimes he has a burst of emotions and acts based on them without even able to stop and think what he's doing. Probably why he started bottling up his emotions: he felt unable to control himself, so he tried to supress his emotions to regain control.
Jackson sometimes thinks in Spanish and says "Ay" instead of "Ow". Meaning he's really influenced by the language. That's a good learning method if you want to get better at a language. But what's most interesting to me is how much effort he puts into understanding and being closer to Carol, only for then not to call her "TÃa". He longs for her trust but at the same time feels like he can't trust her.
Ron is definitely feeling bad for the cultural barrier, and Jackson is the one who Ron understands the least and the one who understands Ron the least. So he's really affected by his comments and is irritated when being with him
"Our favourite song"??? I can't say that I'm a Dexer fan (I'm not a hater either. Just neutral) but I can't deny they had chemistry before being affected by the Diary
If Exer was controlling the skirt from afar all this time, why didn't he went looking for him before lunch?
EXTRA NOTES:
There's a chromatic aberration when Jackson and Ron meet eyes in the end of the episode.
