The Colosseum aka The Falvian Amphitheatre: Construction began in 70AD and was completed in 80AD and could hold up to 80,000 spectators. Like modern stadia, it was used for a wide variety of events including gladiator battles, executing Christians, re-enacting battles and plays showing classica mythology. It was paid for using gold plundered from the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.
