About
STEINS;GATEÂ returns! Rebooted for the modern era!
STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT revisits STEINS;GATE, which was originally released in 2009 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, and features completely revamped visuals and new narrative content.
Scenarios with Improved Readability
Based on the scenario from STEINS;GATE ELITE, the story has been refined to be more evenly paced, with an overall smoother reading experience. Along with new dialogue and narrative text, a brand-new worldline and ending scenario have been added, bringing players a story never before seen. The game features a substantially expanded volume of text, delivering a richer story experience.
Newly Recorded Voices and Sound
All in-game voice lines have been newly recorded in Japanese, while the entire soundtrack has been remade by Composer Tsuyoshi Abo.
Revamped Graphics
All character art, backgrounds, and event still images have been completely redrawn from scratch, resulting in a major visual revamp. Compared to the original Xbox 360 version, the number of event still images has approximately doubled, while the number of background visuals has increased by roughly 20%. The expanded volume of artwork delivers an even more immersive experience.
Dynamic Character Expressions with E-mote
By utilizing the next-generation animation tool âE-mote,â characters are brought to life with vivid realism. From subtle changes in facial expressions to natural breathing, these nuances take immersion in the story to new heights.
Key Features
Your choices shape the fate of the characters and the world itself! Featuring multiple endings that branch based on your decisions.
A text-based adventure where controlling Rintaroâs phone can alter the course of destiny.
Beautifully remastered visuals rebuilt in stunning high detail.
Playtime: Approximately 30â50 hours.

Kaneko being picked up by Colopl has always been strange to me. He did work for Capcom, Namco for Robot Wars (if I remember correctly), he worked with Kojima on ZOE, and he's friends with the freaking creator of Jojo! How did he get picked by some literal who company, were they just... that uninterested?
I assume COLOPL gave him the incentives he was looking for: cash and the opportunity to make a game and its art (possibly with full creative control).
Given the kind of lukewarm reception to Tsukuyomi, we need to admit that Kaneko is not some sort of major industry figure like a Kojima or Miyamoto. His name isn't meaningful to enough people to be a major draw and guarantee a huge success; however, he definitely has a devoted following and that's probably why a small outfit like COLOPL was willing to give him the opportunity.
Seeing the design under the mask of the new Gacha game art Kaneko did, I never considered how much the colorist was just as important to depicting his designs. The blue haired guy and the girl just lookâŠoff in a way that makes them unappealing for me to look at.
I don't really see it? The pink and green are an unusual choice for him, but my guess is that she's some sort of sukeban version of his "Alice" character from the NFT slop game, hence the sort of garish palette- like an alternate color theme for a character in a fighting game.
Otherwise, the color styling and rendering are consistent with his post-King Abaddon style/existing collaborations with Shiraishi. The guy in particular looks straight from the Kohei Kadono/Jiken illustrations. Not exceptional, but they're replacement-level designs at worst. Emblematic of a semi-retired veteran artist being put to work in Gacha purgatory.
On the other hand, these illustrations he did for some other Colopl trash game are a perfect proof of what you're describing. Totally jarring; the 'Lucifer' illustration succeeds best by hiding as many details of the original design as possible. Pretty funny, though.

Here is the first chapter of DREAM!ingâs Main Story! As Iâm not a professional, please take these translations with a grain of salt. If you find any mistakes, feel free to message and let me know.
I donât own anything but the translations. For the best experience, I recommend reading along with the game, as the main story is fully voiced! Without further ado, Part I Chapter 1 under the cut!
Yuma: ⊠Ah, Granny? âS me⊠yeah. Just got tâ Tokyo safely. [1]
Yuma: Right about now Iâm in that famous Shibuya. Thereâre some real crazy folks here, but Iâm doinâ okay.
Yuma: ⊠Yeah. Iâll make lotsâa friends, so donât worry.
Yuma: Ya better take careâa yourself, too, Granny. Promise me ya wonât go pushinâ yourself too hard.
Yuma: ⊠Yup, Iâll be tryinâ my best too. ⊠Mm, thank ya. Iâll call ya again.
⊠As soon as I hung up the phone, I could hear the hustle and bustle of Tokyo again.
The unfamiliar voices of the city, of other people.
Louder and colder than the sound of the waves, nestled against the shore of my hometown â ⊠and unnaturally close.
Yuma: ⊠There really are a lotta folks in Tokyo, after all.
Yuma: Wonder whatâs the best way to school from here?
Yuma: (From this day forward, Iâll be at Shinonome Academy.)
Yuma: (Politics, industry, show business, arts, science â a mega-elite school with names of children of celebrities from every field on the roster.)
Yuma: (In particular, there exists whatâs known as the Elite Class, chosen according to a strict scouting rule. They could be called the stars of the academy.)
Yuma: (But every year, a top student is chosen from among the graduates of the Elite Class ââ âŠ)
Announcer: ââ The election of a top student from the Elite Class at Shinonome Academy is sure a hot topic every year!
Announcer: And itâs no wonder! The graduate chosen for the top seat will be tasked with carrying the future of Japan on their back â a key figure indeed!
Announcer: Having access to government intelligence and institutions without the need for prior permission is only the beginning!
Announcer: They will also get the chance to meet with Cabinet members, and receive a loan of 1 trillion yen from the worldâs leading banks!
Announcer: Today weâve come to interview the new students of the Elite Class, who may earn such a leading advantage in the future, on their special entrance ceremony!
Announcer: At any rate, take a look at that! What appears to be female and even male fans are lined up en masse, waiting for their arrival ââ
Announcer: There it is! Without further ado, it seems those shining gems have begun to show up!
Announcer: A limousine! A limousine surrounded by guards has appeared!
Announcer: Oh!? The person getting out, could it beâââŠ!
????: Iâll be on my way now, Father.
Announcer: So it is! The son of the current Prime Minister, Harimiya-san!
Announcer: An incredible number of people are pushing their way toward the car, but I wonât lose this interview opportunity!
Announcer: Prime Minister! Prime Minister Harimiyaâ! Congratulations on your sonâs admission! Please spare us even just a few words!
????: My deepest apologies, members of the press.
????: Today, my father celebrates this new step in my life not as a politician, but simply as a parent.
????: While it may be presumptuous of me, should you have any questions, I will gladly answer in my fatherâs stead.
Announcer: S⊠Such intelligent correspondence! You can already see the personality of the one who will carry Japanâs future!
Announcer: And heâs unimaginably handsome! Heâs practically sparkling!
????: Haha. Thank you very much.
????: To come out this early in the morning, youâve worked so hard.
Announcer: OhâŠ! This must be what they call the âkiller smileâ! Even I, a man, felt my heart skip a beat!
Announcer: Oh my! Next it seems we have the appearance of a helicopter from the sky!
Announcer: In the midst of this blast of wind, a single student descends, dashingly using a rope ladder!
????: Huh, Japan sure is noisy.
Announcer: As expected of Shinonome Academy! The super elite, mega-prestigious high school! Even just the sight of these students arriving to school has a âshowtimeâ-like glamor!
Announcer: Oh ho! We canât let our guard down for even a moment! Next is the appearance of a motorbike!
Announcer: Wha- What on Earth! That bike, is it not a Charlie Davidson!?
Announcer: If they were to buy a new car, who knows how many months worth of my salary would vanish into thin air! Those high schoolers, buying Charlie Davidsons willy-nilly, have made their appearance! As expected of Shinonome! O great Shinonome Academy!
????: ââHyup.
????: Hey. I told you getting off before Iâve totally stopped is dangerous.
????: ââJin-san!
????: Hm
????: Good morning.
????: Ah, itâs you.
????: Iâm so glad to see youâve returned to Japan safely. Ah, your tie is slightly crooked.
????: Really. Go ahead, then.
????: Gladly.
Announcer: Whâ whaâ whawhawha⊠Just what am I looking at right now!?
????: Jeez. You really do like looking after him.
????: ⊠Hm. This new cherry mint flavor is a hit.
Announcer: Whatâ!? Next up is a patrol car!
Announcer: At last, students coming to school in even police vehicles have made their appearance!!
Announcer: Aaaahâ! The patrol car has parked in front of the school gates! The doors are opening!
Announcer: Just what nature of super high schooler could possibly appear! Now! Itâs becoming clearâââŠ
Announcer: ⊠Eh?
Officer: Did you make sure you have everything?
Yuma: ⊠Yessir. Thank ya kindly.
Announcer: Th⊠âthank ya kindlyâ?
Female Student A: Eh, whatâs with that âkindlyââŠ
Female Student B: He mustâve come to the wrong school, right?
Officer: Now then, try not to get lost anymore, okay? Congratulations on your admission!
Yuma: This is⊠Shinonome Academy.
Yuma: (The school Iââ Yuma Mochizukiââ will be living out my high school days at from today onâŠ)
TO BE CONTINUED
Notes:
[1] Yuma is from Kagoshima and speaks with a really cute country accent. To avoid being stereotyped, people with âcountry bumpkinâ accents tend to cover them with standardized Tokyo Japanese. Itâs a bit hard to translate the jokes related to his accent (since most involve things like accidentally using oi instead of ore or aigato instead of arigatou), but Iâll do my best!
