While rewriting the stsrt of Collided Fates, i figured the early days of the new situation was....not smooth. Especially not for Mikey or Donnie.
Mikey was pretty mad at the start of living with his new brothers. Who was he mad at? Everyone really. The Kraang, the other turtles, Casey, himself especially. And Donnie was distant from minute one. No one knew if it was his timeline's events or watching another him die, Leo assumes both, but he wanted nothing to do with the others for a while. And what happens when you have two highly emotional and unstable turtles? They don't exactly get along.
Raph wanted to mediate multiple times, but Leo talked him down. It was a tough situation and they needed space. Neither he or Raph really liked it though :/

Leo time!!! (Backstory accompanied by the occasional lazy doodle :>)
So CF!Leo's timeline was very similar to the movie's introduction. He actually comes from the same time, just with an alternate result. Coming from 2044, Leo is about 38 years old.
His brothers were in the lair when the invasion started in 2021. He'd stormed off after the arguement with Raph when he failed to nab the key, and was on the surface to witness the Kraang's takeover. Getting back to the sewers was a chore, and by the time he'd gotten there to grab his brothers the Kraang had followed him. The turtles were unprepared to face the Kraang, and Raph and Splinter lay down their lives so Leo could get the other two to safety. It kinda fucked him up, especially given the last time he had a talk with Raph turned into an arguement.
He, his remaining brothers, April and Cassandra met up and started the resistance deep in the Hidden City, but even there wasn't safe. They were fine for years, Cassandra finding and claiming adopting who would later be Casey, but he didn't have the best luck. People he led argued under the pressure, and Donnie largely locked himself away. Even Mikey had trouble staying positive.
Then he made (in his mind) a mistake.
He gave his ninpo to Donnie, revoking his ability to use his mystic powers, and asked Mikey to help him teach Donnie how to properly hone them. Donnie's mystic tech and weaponry was a large part of what kept the resistance safe even before this. With the extra power, Donnie could act as a makesgift mystic nuke who could take out armies with ease. He would have been unstoppable, but like Mikey, he began straining his ninpo past his limits, and the effects weren't as manageable as Mikey's aging.
He became weak and ill, his ninpo constantly in action for the resistance's security systems, not even allowing him to sleep unless forced by Leo. He became tired and reserved, a shell (pun intended) of his former self. He lost a lot of his spark and sass, and he became quiet. One day, Leo finally got Donnie to sleep after a long time of staying up, assuring him they could keep themselves safe while he slept. Donnie never woke up, and the backup security system he'd made years before could only last so long. The Kraang found the base, and Mikey and Leo fled once again, having to leave everything behind.
They wandered, just trying to get by. The two drifted around both the Hidden City and New York, occasionally staying with other suevivor groups who always fell. Leo grew quite numb to loss, frankly. As Mikey's ninpo aged him, they started setting bases more often, eventually bunkering down in the sewers. They'd come full circle and the irony of the situation wasn't lost on either of them.
When he ended up in the time branch CF happens in, the Kraang had found them and driven them from their base. They were in a corner and out of options, and as a final desperate attempt to save his older brother, Mikey harnessed all of his mystic energy into making an escape. He made a portal, finding a magic current somewhere in the multiverse and latching everything he had onto it. Leo couldn't stop him, watching Mikey shatter in front of him. He didn't quite know what Mikey had done, the resulting flashbang blinding everything around, Leo included.when the smoke cleared and the sunspots were gone, the Mikey before him was younger, but still had that desperate look in his eyes.
He collapsed, and Leo rushed to his side. Surrounded by the loved ones he'd thought he'd never see again. Whatever his little brother had done, Leo was determined to make sure it wasn't in vain.
