In my last post, I thought the "cloaks and golden masks" were the characteristics of Ancients in general, but now I realize that's probably just referring to the Scholar Of The Empyrean Set. Which would also gain weight since that note was referring to the choosing of someone to take care of a Night Sanctum. Which is what these Scholars do. I'm not a great lore digger, be patient, please.

The image with an Ancient is in black and white, so I can only theorize that maybe the face is also a very pale gold, resembling a mask? If that's the case, that'd be a lot more like my beautiful wonderful spouse mwah i love this freak ANYWAY

But this would be a good time to point out that Alden seems slightly short? To me, at least. Definitely not freakishly tall. But who knows, maybe there's some insane diversity going on with the Ancients? Maybe? Possibly!? I have little to nothing to work with!!!!

It's stated in-game that the whole Elixir thing is news to Alden, who was stuck in the Hollow Halls for god knows how long. So... They're younger than the flameborn, obviously.

They do seem really interested in the Flame itself though, and "claim to be flame touched themselves, but would not elaborate" (I don't have a screenshot on hand, sorry :[ ). You know what lore this goes along with?

This sounds like Alden, doesn't it? Just... A lot more enthusiastic than usual.
