Assortment of bugs I found recently!!!!
Alfalfa butterfly (I think)
A dragonfly that’s a very pretty shade of blue!!!!
Praying mantis having a good meal (rip silver spotted skipper </3)
The first fella is in the genus Colias but there are a lot of species in that genus. Could be any number of them. The second fella is a damselfly rather than a dragonfly. And RIP to the skipper but glad the mantis got a tasty meal!
some sort of ridiculous pierid rearing up in annoyance at me but kinda looking like it's clapping in joy. i don't think i ever figured out what this thing was, maybe a clouded yellow (Colias croceus) in which case i'm the one who should be clapping in joy because if i can't get the adults to sit still i at least got a photo of a child

Colias my sweetie…
First drawing is him at 9 (the age he died)

Common clouded yellow butterfly (Colias crocea)

Lately I’ve been thinking of using some butterflies I have in rougher shape to make some gloomier, more antiquated-looking pieces. Here’s a white Colias palaeno on a real spider web, sprinkled with resin dew drops.
