my take on cold goodbyes:
cold goodbyes is gracie's way of processing her sudden boost to stardom with tsou and how she used to know what was her thing, but now she doesn't even know what it is anymore
"i come up for air too few times / i can't get it right / can't i?" people hating on her singing and her breathing during tsou era
"there's something on my face / it's the subtlest expression / i should change it just in case / if the questioning starts coming / in half-hearted show of faith" she can't show her true feelings on her face because then people will start judging but their questions will be disguised as concern
so this is her cold goodbye to every person who misunderstands her as an artist, and who built a narrative of her in their heads that wasn't actually her... because THIS is her
