so i got this pmv i started back in 2017 of some wcrp characters and it’s finally kinda. nearing completion (i only work on it in random bursts, y’know?) so i wanted to do a redraw of the intro shot 4 years later for use in the finished product! i don’t do backgrounds often but i did my best <3

Suddenly, there was a horrible, screechy yowl from the high rock. A hush fell over the gathered cats as they turned their eyes to see who had interrupted the peace of the night. It was clear from their reactions that she hadn't been invited. 

 A tall, thin molly with a multitude of scars stood far above them. She looked over them with a long, twitching tail and a cold, one-eyed gaze. Her voice was deep and scratchy when she spoke, as if something had crushed her throat and it had never recovered. 

 "Cats of the clans," she called in the silence. "I've come to ask a favor."

Some current events:

Coveclan’s unpredictable leadership continues to crumble; Nightsong, a cove warrior, killed Duskstar and took her place as leader instead of the rightful deputy. Though Coveclan has been relatively stable under his leadership for two moons, it’s going to take sustained effort to convince more cynical cats that the tides are changing for the beachside clan.

Mireclan’s young leader, Smokestar, has taken quite the liking to allowing rogues and loners to roam her camp, going so far as to invite them to gatherings. Despite the loners’ troublemaking natures, they continue to be welcomed in Mireclan, to the displeasure of cats both within and outside of her clan.

Ridgeclan’s herbalist, Sunsong, received a prophecy from Starclan that she kept hidden, which turned out to be a grave mistake. A loner turned up to the Gathering with her kit, seeking refuge and claiming to be a messenger of Starclan. Enraged, Crabstar severed her ties with Mireclan, who offered the supposed prophet shelter.

Additionally, foxes have begun to roam Ridgeclan territory, going so far as to attack the cliffside clan’s warriors; things seem to only grow more dire, with Coveclan forbidding its warriors from visiting Mireclan and the marshy cats’ growing discontent with their clanless visitors.
