The world lost a hero and an angel this week. Mary Slowik was the founder of @gothamcritters and dedicated her life to caring for the innocent lives that few others noticed on the streets of NY. Every single day, all year long, every year, Mary would be out feeding the colony cats. She did not take Christmas vacation, or any other holiday. She was there no matter what for those many lives that counted on her. If an animal was sick, she would trap it and take it to the vet. She constantly faced trials and tribulations with this work, but she never gave up. We will remember you always Mary. You made this world better.
