Mother’s Day
@coffeespoonme
Midnight... one am... two am... come 2:30, Robert rolls over in bed to stare at the pale green numbers on his clock. There’s no point in trying to fall asleep tonight, is there? A knot of dread has formed in his chest that won’t let him fall asleep. He’s not sure why, but it happens sometimes. He reaches for his phone on the nightstand and squints as he turns on the screen and catches sight of the date.
Oh. Mother’s day is tomorrow. That must be why.
Sighing, he unlocks his phone and pokes around on some apps aimlessly for a while. He boots up Dadbook and scrolls around for a little bit, until he sees that Mat has posted in the last 30 seconds. Yeah, that makes sense. He probably can’t sleep, either, for the same reason. Rolling over onto his back, he dials Mat’s number and waits for him to pick up.
