Skin/Health Study Day 0
So I’m going to do a little study on my skin and general health starting March 1. While my blog is primarily focused on weight loss, I want to focus on everything related to a healthy lifestyle.
I have tried increasing my water and I’ve been washing my face 2-3 times daily, but yet my skin has still been getting pimples everywhere, and I have never gotten acne until I started my full time job. So I’ve come to the conclusion that the main thing causing my pimples is the coffee I’ve been drinking every day. (Stress may also be a factor, but I have always lead a stressful lifestyle, at least for 7 years and I just haven’t had acne due to stress so idk).
I know that Coffee is a factor to acne control but I didn’t think I was getting affected by it that much. I have turned to love coffee, actually, but I have been drinking a cup every day and I never was a really big coffee drinker before this. I even purchased an off-brand Keurig for my cubicle and am kind of upset that I’ve narrowed it down to this (it wasn’t terribly expensive and I can still buy tea pods or hot chocolate pods but come on…ðŸ˜).
This study will have three waves, each one week long.
Current State: 1 cup of coffee daily, 40-60 FL oz of water daily. Balanced diet. Some candy is allowed, generally eating low calorie foods, ie lean cuisines, so carbs are still pretty high. Daily bowel movements and average energy.
Wave 1: Cut out Coffee and drink 80-100 fl oz of water a day. One cup of Tea Daily.
Expected result: No NEW pimples, slightly clearer skin. Lower bowel movements.
Wave 2: IF skin does not improve, cut out daily tea, otherwise continue Wave 1 and cut out all possible forms of sugar (Focusing on no candy of any kind). Increase water intake 100-120 FL oz Daily. Daily 1 hour of cardio (walking accepted as a ‘Rest’ day).
Expected result: Clear/Smooth skin
Wave 3: Continue Wave 2 and have only vegetables and lean protein for each meal.
Expected result: Clear/Smooth Skin and healthy bodily functions
I have also attached pictures of my face today so we can observe changes, and I will post an update on the following days:
March 8
March 15
March 22
If you decide you want to follow my study, I picked a unique tag that you can search to find it. The tag is:
