So I’d been working on for the last few months - my Starbucks Pokemon Coffee Master certification!

It’s a course anyone can take on Starbucks Global Academy but only Partners (Starbucks staff) can earn the coveted black apron. The course is rather interesting and I’d recommend it anyone with an interest in coffee.

French press coffee roasting is a great way to savor the full taste of your favorite blend of coffee. Some of the best things about French pressing your coffee is that it’s easy to use and clean; it makes multiple cups (which we all love as coffee drinkers); you can taste the rich and full-bodied profile of the coffee you regularly drink; and it doesn’t require any overly fancy kettles or techniques to make. I would recommend using a French press if you can deal with the negatives. We don’t think the worst things about the French press will keep you away from trying this method to brew your beans, however. 

For starters, it takes over five minutes to brew, which is a long time considering that using some of the newer ways of brewing, such as single serve brewing machines, will take two or three-minutes tops. In addition, you do get some sediment in your cup of coffee as well; some people enjoy a clean brew, if that’s you, you may want to try another way of brewing your coffee. And lastly, the full immersion brewing technique of the French press is not efficient at extracting flavors from the roasted bean. 

With that being said, the French press makes a great cup of coffee! We’d recommend it to anyone looking to make the transition from automatic drip brewer to manual brewing methods. It might simply be the easiest way to brew a wonderfully delicious cup of coffee with very little going wrong.
