The next step for me is attending Codeup, in order to become a developer and fund my life/ personal projects. I forgot how much I like making websites! I miss that era before social media overtook everything and people actually made their own, kind of like zines. #codeup #prework (at Greater Harmony Hills, San Antonio) https://www.instagram.com/p/Br0fgA5AYJz/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=17eryzblng6i0

Codeup Arranges Free Coding Bootcamps for Veterans
Some of you might know of Codeup and their offerings. To those who don’t – they arrange bootcamps for people to learn skills such as coding on computers. Today we heard about them arranging a special Learn-to-Code-Bootcamp that is focused on providing learning opportunities for veterans and transitioning service members – and the best part: It’s free for them to join.

Some call it failure, others call it... Failure...
Well there is no easy way to say this buuutt Codeup did not work out for me.
Which sucks. BUT! It didn't work out because I realized that I wanted something different.
Its not that it was too hard (it was really hard sometimes though)
I just took time for me to really know what I wanted.
I got married. I really liked that.
I kept doing school and i didn't like that.
And the key reasons were, time and lack of work.
I now had a wife, a car payment, and living expenses.
Once i finished school i would have a large debt that before was not a problem. But now was something I was concerned about.
I thought about it hard.
I talked about it with my wife.
Plenty of prayer.
I knew what i had to do and that was stop going.
Then I though, "No ill muscle through it" which was stupid.
I wanted to stop.
Then i did.
I started working at a hotel since then.
Then I moved over to the coffee shop in the hotel as management.
Which is the best move I have ever done.
I'm doing something I love now. Food and coffee. Both things that if you met me in person you would be able to tell I love.
And something I learned in Codeup from several of the guest speakers. Is that sometimes you fail. And its part of life. And as lame as that sounds, its definitely true. With Codeup I failed, and I accepted that. I fell flat on my face and failed.
And honestly I wouldn't be in the position I'm in now unless I had dropped out of Codeup. And I'm really honestly excited for what I'm doing.
