Codeborne is a Dark Souls/Bloodborne-inspired AU taking place after the Amazing Digital Circus finale. Long after achieving their happy ending and finding meaning in the stagnant eternity of the Circus, the main cast inexplicably begin to abstract, leaving Caine completely alone and unable to cope with his grief. The only thing between himself and oblivion is the promises he made to his friends to keep the circus alive despite their absence, but even then his despair begins fo affect the world. Night dominates the digital realm, viruses and corrupt NPCs run rampant, he has become a lonely god lost in his own head.
And then the abstracted start to come back. Except years of fighting viruses wearing the avatars of his human companions has made Caine hostile and disbelieving that de-abstraction is even possible. He's hostile and a constant threat to those who return.
Our story starts with Queenie's return. With very little memory of her time before abstraction but an indomitable thirst for answers, perhaps she can help her fellow humans make a difference...
Codeborne is a comic with a loose choose-your-own-adventure style story. While certain major story beats are already planned out, polls will be posted with certain pages to allow YOU to decide how characters will reach those story beats.

Working on AU designs for a de-abstraction AU called Codeborne! If you're in the Caine Angst Club discord you'll have seen me yapping about this AU for the past week. Queenie gets centre stage in a Circus that has completely fallen apart, ruled by a ringmaster who's been reduced to a grieving shell of his former self after the whole main cast abstracted despite them all getting their happy ending and finding meaning in a world where they'll live forever.
Abstraction has still left its mark on Queenie and those who have also come back from it before her. It's most noticeable whenever she's angry or scared.
