since everyone seems to have a problem with theft these days I have to spell it out for you all. the outicons link in my themes was MADE BY ME and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC USE. there are many ways to use the outicons that don’t involve theft.
1. you can use the svg’s - @shythemes has tutorials
2. you can make your own icon font like i did - http://fontastic.me/
but for the love of god, please, please, stop stealing it from me.

What do I do if someone takes the coding of one of my personal tables and uses it for themselves and to make tables for others?
We encourage you to approach the player directly about the issue and politely ask them not to use the code. While it is rude to go directly against someone’s wishes if you’ve explicitly asked them to stop, there is little that we can do. :(The ‘SA does not police or pursue cases of table code theft. While there are definitely many different ways to code a table and many players develop stylistic variations, we maintain that table codes are typically too simple to claim any formal ownership over. A website consists of hundreds or thousands of different components; a table does not. We understand that it is easy to tell, in many cases, when one player lifts code from another; however, it is not possible for us to objectively judge how much of a change is “enough” to count as a “new” table.
Okay so I’ve been thinking really hard about this for a little while now. I’ve debated whether or not to post this a few times but I think it’s necessary.
As many of you know, in the past few weeks there seems to be a rise in code / design theft. Almost weekly I’ve received asks directing me to themes that very closely resemble my own. Those who have seen the published asks will recognise the three main people I’m talking about.
In the first case, I personally messaged the user and asked them to remove their theme as I believed that the similarities were undeniable. Admittedly, I did perceive their response to be somewhat rude and they refused to take the theme down. Feeling a bit defeated, I gave up and went to bed, deciding that I’d try to contact them again tomorrow. However, when I visited their blog the next day, they had removed all of their themes and closed their ask. They cited dozens (I believe 40+) hate messages and death threats as the reason. I immediately felt conflicted and continue to as I write this post. Whilst I did not ask / encourage anyone to become involved in this process, I still feel responsible. However, still feeling somewhat bitter about the (seemingly obvious) theft I stayed silent.
Something similar happened again earlier this week. This time, I decided not to personally message the user. At the time I was very exhausted / emotional (for a number of reasons that were not strictly theme-related) and asked for someone to message them instead. Unbeknownst to me, this user was also accused of stealing from sorrism, a very well-respected theme maker. While I never communicated with them or saw any post saying so, I believe a similar thing happened. They too deleted their entire theme blog. I stayed quiet, again.
Yesterday, the exact same thing happened. I saw a few messages saying that a certain theme looked like mine. I checked it out, thought that it was quite likely that some code was stolen. This time, I reacted quite differently to the prior occasions. I did not contact the user, nor did I request anyone else do the same. I was also rude in my response. I realised that I was expecting the same thing to happen. It would get taken care of by someone else. Presumably, followers / fans of this blog who really have my best interests at heart. This user also deleted all of their themes and let me know that they had received a significant amount of anon hate. However, despite their earlier mistakes, they were very gracious.
It led me further into some moral reflection about this whole scenario. I realised I had started to rely on this negative energy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still struggling with the logistics of it all. Theft is undeniably wrong and can’t go unchecked. In all of these cases, it seemed quite obvious that codes and design ideas had been stolen. That is wrong. That is unfair to the people that spend significant time crafting unique themes for free. To the numerous theme makers who often feel burdened by this hobby. I often think of running acuite as a kind of job / chore at times. To have your original content stolen is not right or fair. Especially in the case of theme makers who then re-release your work and often receive high praise / credit for it. It’s not okay. I understand that.
But you know what else is not okay? Telling someone to harm themselves because of something as (admittedly) trivial as a tumblr theme. Harassing someone to the point that they delete their blog and close their ask box. I can’t stand idly by and pretend that it’s okay anymore, just because it somewhat serves my interests. It legitimately upsets me more than a theft claim at this point. Knowing that people - whether they had stolen or not - are receiving such venomous hate does not sit well with me, at all. As I said, a lot of these messages are probably coming from people who are simply trying to support me. I appreciate the sentiment, more than you could ever know. But we need to change tactics. We need to resolve this negativity and act in a kinder way. Support me by reporting their theft. Support me by kindly explaining the situation and reasoning with them. Support me in a way that doesn’t negatively impact someone else. I do not condone these negative messages in any way. I’m pleading with you to please never send those kind of messages on my behalf.
I think the real struggle here is the kind of corporatisation of theme making. As mentioned, it has become a chore / job / business for many people. In the form of monetary compensation for custom themes, it is positive. However, it has also led to a sense of detachment. I am not a corporate entity releasing content on a deadline for demanding customers, but sometimes it does feel that way. At the heart of it, I just thoroughly enjoy coding and interacting with the people who enjoy using my themes. I think we need to take ourselves less seriously though. There is a person behind every blog. I’m just an eighteen year old university student who releases themes when I have time to make them. Those people who were harassed are just regular people with regular lives too. At the end of the day, it is just free themes on tumblr. I’m not trying to trivialise theme making, because it’s something I do take incredibly seriously and have a lot of pride in. But let’s eradicate the pressure. Don’t address theme makers as if theme making is their job and your satisfaction should be their number one priority. Don’t nag theme makers about creating new content. Don’t be rude to theme makers if you don’t personally like their design. Don’t encourage an anon hate filled rage for potential code thieves. Just. Don’t take it all so seriously.
Those people (and any other code thieves) deserve to face consequences. They should remove their themes. They do not deserve to be harassed with hate messages until they feel as if deleting is their only option. No one deserves that.
Okay, so this is a lot longer than I expected it to be but obviously this issue is close to me. I want the theme making community to be an enjoyable and fun place. I’m tired of seeing theme makers delete their blog due to various reasons and stresses. If you read this whole thing, I want to thank you. I’m trying to respond to this situation in a logical way but mostly I want to start a conversation about this. How can we better deal with thieves? Please let me know your suggestions. This just continues to happen and I’m starting to feel a little hopeless / defeated. Thanks for reading.
Your ask box is closed, so I'm making a post (it won't let me mention you, but honestly I couldn't care less at this point). I hope you see this.
I'm not sure exactly what you're doing. I don't know if you're trying to steal my code or if this is just your way of installing my theme and updates tab.
Part of me thinks that you're just trying to install my theme, since you haven't removed the credit, and because that's what I want to think. But for all I know, it could just be that you haven't gotten around to removing the credit yet. If you are just trying to install my theme I ask that you please, please use the paste bin code I provided and customize theme yourself. Do not copy the source code and install the theme that way. It's really disrespectful towards me and suspicious.
And if you are trying to steal my code, fucking stop (pardon my French). I work really hard on my themes, and it makes me angry beyond belief when someone tries to take that away from me, so just don't. Don't.
Know that I am keeping a very close eye on your blog. I may not be able to message you directly, and I may not be able to report you to staff since I work underground, but I am not afraid to make public posts (as I'm doing now) calling you out on your shit (and again, pardon my French). I know what you're doing, and I will make sure everyone else does, too. I will not let you do this to me.
Like I said, I don't know if you're trying to install my theme or trying to steal it, but either way I would appreciate it if you would explain to me why you think this is okay (and apology would be nice, too).
If you're trying to install my theme, please do it the right way, and if not, well, fuck you. :)
THEFT/HARASSMENT REGARDING USER SOFTWARING (AKA MEANCUTIE, JUBILEETHEMES & NATURALPALETTES)
some of you may already know of my past issues with tumblr user softwaring (previously meancutie) who also runs jubileethemes and naturalpalettes, which have been going on since october of last year.
long story short, shes previously stolen tons of coding AND art from me, and went as far to try to illegally sell photography that did not belong to her from her naturalpalettes blog. sadly theres still harassment and shit going on so it would be cool if you could unfollow any or all of her blogs, and blacklist all of her urls, and spread the word (and of course reblog this post).
you can read up on all of this stuff (with some examples still in tact, as its an old archive) by clicking here, this article is updated when and if i get incidents of theft/harassment submitted to me, or if i find them myself.

People have reported to us and LMThemes multiple times that she has stolen the code from this layout and claimed it as her own. (Not to mention probably other themes as well.)
Don't be an ass when someone tells you not to remove a theme maker's credit.
So this was a submitted post to us and really, there is no reason to be rude to someone for reminding you to do the right thing:
So I noticed someone (lupinotuum) in the roleplaying community was using an altered version of the Khaleesi theme by halodesigns (previously manatopia); I was looking around on their page and I noticed that the credit link had been removed entirely and I looked on their links page and there was no credit there either. I shot them an anonymous message and this was the response I recieved. (If you click the link it takes you to a screencap of the message once they posted it).
I also sent them another message about it after they said I was being anal, as did another anon. Their response to my other anonymous message is here. They clearly don't care about crediting the maker of this theme.
