Mammillaria pondii ssp. setispina
Mammillaria pondii ssp. setispina belongs to a group of hummingbird-pollinated species native to Baja California (formerly put in the separate genus Cochemiea). Their elongated red tubular flowers look unlike those of other Mammillarias, but this is a pollinator adaptation which makes them seem more different than they really are.
