You have a really nice voice by the way, even if you are getting up at 1 am to rant at anons
Thank you! To be fair, that IS partially how I got here!
Dis me! I Cobumbo! I go in? Solve Crime? True…
This entire skit was improv I did on my laptop as a bit to Akane, had I known it’d end up as a full animatic I would have gotten in the booth, whoops!
But yeah, I started by dubbing Twin Runes, did about 50 issues, will get back to it eventually I swear on Berdly’s life-… something more permanent than Berdly’s life, like a glass sculpture… or a cobweb.
But I started talking with Akane due to it, and then we became friends, and then I started thinking about Asriel and Chara and was offered the chance to do… this!
And now, I am here. If you think about it. This is exactly a Cobumbo. No questions I am right thank you.
And thank you for the compliment!
I have a question what was your inspiration for making that animatic?
The audio track.
I keep repeating myself at this point, but the audio came first. It was originally just a little skit Alpha made to make me laugh.
I simply saw it playing out in my head and I had to try to visualize it. Essentially the script and audio, the foley, the subtitles... that's ALL his. They belong to him. I only animated his script with his blessings.
Animatic I hear??
You heard correctly!
This is a short... uh... short that was done as a gag by @projectalpha22 during a conversation we had, that eventually, somehow, transformed
WATCH IT.
NOW.
(I SPENT LITERAL WEEKS ANIMATING IT. ALPHA DID PROFESSIONAL FOLEY WORK, GAVE YOU SUBTITLES AND MADE MY THUMBNAIL A 1000% BETTER. APPRECIATE OUR WORK, GODAMMIT)
it would be hilarus to have a columbo but for drugs it would be the bane of azzy's existance
Again, I had to ask local Cobumbo expert Alpha for his imput.
Alpha: "Cobumbo ain't no snitch. He solves actual crimes."

I know other people have said this, but I'm honestly shocked on how much I loved the Cobumbo vid you did. It made me laugh plus overall make my day without any intention! Just wanted to that out, have a great day Akan :3
I really can't take all of the credit.
You really should be giving Alpha the praise instead. He did the writing, dialog, sound design, and subtitles. I only did the visuals.
but how DID the dog get in to ruin the science projects?
That's something Alpha did talk to me about after the fact. If this had been an actual show, it would've followed closer to the actual story structure of a normal episode of Columbo. So more out of the point of view of the cuprit.
Basically Kris coming across the dog after a very rough day when they find Frisk giving a bath to it because it's dirty. That is when they tell that it's covered in the remnants of everyone's science project and concluding that it must've gotten in through a loose panel the school staff originally duct taped shut.
So basically the animatic you saw would have more or less been the end of that hypotetical episode.
And no I am not doing that.
Wonder if we’ll see more Cobumbo eventually.
That depends on if Alpha is gonna do another bit. /j
No, but seriously. The Cobumbo bit was originally made as a simple joke. Alpha recorded a little audio sketch to make me laugh. Around that time, I really wanted to get into doing animatics, so I tried to do the first couple of seconds of it.
NEITHER of us knew it would turn into a full thing. I kinda just kept going until it was completely done. And after all that work went into it, he did the foley and the subtitles. I did a thumbnail, and he improved it.
It went from a bit to a complete collaboration on accident.
I can't guarantee that we'll get more Cobumbo. But I had a lot of fun working with Alpha, and if he wants to collab again in the future, I'd absolutely be down.
