Compton’s Most Wanted: “Growin’ Up In The Hood” (1991)
WBLS repped this when Boyz N’ The Hood came out (Singleton, 1991) and was included in the movie soundtrack. Before I found Ice Cube and when my sis- B-Bomb educated me on how nasty N.W.A. were, Compton’s Most Wanted / MC Eiht were the first instance of gangsta rap I ever discovered. MC Eiht would enter my life again at the right time with “All For The Money” (’94).
