HII!!!! It's nice to be here! This fandom has been so welcoming, I'm flabbergasted. and I don't say that word lightly!!
For tropes/genres, I'm the kind of person who would read anything if it's got a blorbo in it and it's written well, though there's definitely some I enjoy writing more than others (reader really is up in the air). Angst and hurt/comfort, for one, is a big one for me. I like comedy sprinkled in drama fics, and AUs if I get big into brainstorming them. As for tropes, I like suffering, so I do like whump a bit (though the severity of it depends on the character).
Also all the usual ship tropes. Especially love soulmate fics with unique spins on the concept, only one bed, sex pollen, punishment, doctor/patient, mad scientist/their creation, slowburn, mutual pining (neither realises that they're pining). And a bunch more I forgot about rn

no but actually, my faves are 1. Jiro 2. Yuri 3. Whoever happens to be on my mind at that point in time that is NOT Jiro or Yuri. I'm afflicted with a disease called Mortkrankenitis. No known cure. As a unit or apart, these two infect my brain in ways I don't think I can even articulate. Their codependency. The way they understand each other in such a deep, personal level that I don't think is matched by any other captain/vc pair other than maybe ed and rui. If you have to cry, do it when we're alone. Yuri's insecurity vs Jiro's apathy being the funniest shit. Both of them being perhaps the most USEFUL ghouls to MC by FAR (closest being Ed, but those two are actively TRYING to cure the MC) really makes them stand out to me too. It does help too that all of Jiro's cards are super good. like.

That combined with just being a sucker for Jiro's design from the get-go (red eyes + black hair + scars.... kiss me already), the frankenstein allusions, and the tragic, soft nature of him... yeah I'm hooked. Plus, like - sorry to every other ghoul, but NO ONE gets aura moments like him. he gets a fucking chainsaw how fucking rad is that
