So it begins ❤️ . This is the reason the #closetchronicles existed!! We (and when I say we, I mean mostly Carl ❤️) are combining this tiny, gross, super grey bathroom and this smelly walk-in closet with no air flow into a larger master bath. We’ve been planning this since we bought the house and figured.... no time is like the present!! . The three of us visited the Tile Shop in Ft. Wayne today and solidified the tile I picked out in December and after returning from dinner- Josh let me rip some things apart!! It was great! We also pretended to be a zombie and a king! Closet Chronicles, Vol. 22- Final Steps: . Welcome to another Husband Edition of the #closetchronicles ! I have been quite sick since the end of December and was unable to do a lot- but Josh just got after it! . He installed our closet rods, removed the 2x4 temporary wall and installed our super cool, industrial cable support!!! And he had some very excellent help from Aggie installing the door handles 🐾❤️😂 . We still have some very basic touch up work to do- painting, installing guides for the barn door, etc., but for the most part the main construction is finished!! We do plan on building the unit up to the slanted ceiling and popping in a couple of cabinet doors for extra storage, but we are okay waiting a bit for that! . Closet Chronicles, Vol. 21: . This past weekend, Josh and I persevered. We got 1.5 doors installed!! And, though they weren’t the original design, they don’t look too shabby. . The plan for my swinging doors was to use soft close concealed hinges, but I made the door juuuuuust barely too thick.. 🙄🙄 off we went to Lowe’s and got some piano hinges. And honestly, it works perfectly!! Look how wide the door opens!! I was super relieved. We installed the first door and hinges without painting them black just to see if they’d work, but eventually the hinges will match the rest of the hardware. . We have a little more touch up paint to do, the handles are currently being shipped, we need to hang the closet rods, and then this project will be completed. Closet Chronicles, Vol. 19, the Door Saga: . We’ve started to build and paint the doors!! The actual assembly took basically zero time, but the paint WON’T dry 🙄 . We chose a lovely grey called Dovetail! And Josh got started painting the drawer fronts and sides their final coat of white. I helped a little 🙃 he really is the MVP . Closet Chronicles, Vol. 18: . It’s been a minute since our last closet update!! This weekend Josh and I finally hung the barn door track! That means after the holidays, I can start building the doors! . The doors will have trim painted in the color Porpoise and the center of the doors will will excess flooring we have!! . I also picked out some drawer pulls. They’ll match the door handles as well! . Lastly- the hinges I ordered from Amazon arrived a while ago which means I can now start to plan the doors for the left side as well. .
