2 your eye colour: Blue.


3 your hair colour: Ginger. Not a brown ginger, or a blonde ginger, or a really bright orange ginger, somewhere in the middle of them all. An autumn ginger. 


4 one fact about you: I deeply detest my name and I’ve been thinking about changing it for many years. 


5 favorite colour: All hues of green and blue, but mostly very deep dark green. Any midnight colours that could be mistaken for black on first inspection. 


6 favorite place: Porthcurno, a tiny village in a valley by the sea a few miles from Land’s End, quiet and cold. 

Las Vegas, sparkling and air-conditioned. 


7 favorite celebrity: Cher will always be my leading lady, but for the last however long and for the foreseeable future I am completely and utterly blinded by my infatuation with Michelle Gomez. And Peter Gabriel isn’t bad either. 


8 favorite animal: God, don’t make me choose! Probably dogs at the moment, I miss having one around. 


9 favorite song: All or Nothing - Cher, Turn It Up - Robert Plant, Girls in Bossier City - Papa Mali, Telephone - Lifesigns. There’s a lot going on as far as music and I are concerned. 


10 favorite book: I’m so indecisive on this topic but for the sake of brevity I’m gonna have to say Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone; it’s where the magic started.

YOU OKAY FRIEND?

ARRRRGH how do I answer this? Well, certainly "In no particular order", but I will try...may actually base this on my "most listened to" songs...

- "How Can Heaven Love Me" the song is catchy as hell, I love the lyrics and the video is just perfect, pretty much a glance into what the inside of my brain looks like at any given point

- "Meadowlark" not an original song of hers, admittedly, but one HELL of a song and the performers I've heard do it have all put their stamp on it. But I can remember the first time I heard it, walking through Parliament Square to work and I had to stop to sit on a wall to listen to the whole song because it quite literally took my breath away, not something I've ever had happen to me before on a first listen of a song. In fact, I am not even sure if there ARE any other songs I can remember hearing for the first time in anything like that level of detail. Outstanding and pretty much makes me CRY EVRY TIM

- I will be with you (Where the Lost Ones Go). I have a terrible habit of skipping over her duets when I'm on a Sarah Binge, but when I actually sat down and listened to a straight runthrough of Symphony...yeah. I don't want to be TOO specific about my FEELS on this song as that's a level of emotional exposure I'm not sure I'm comfortable with anyone, ever, hearing about. But it helped to soothe some extremely painful, and extremely enduring, and most of all unresolvable emotions from a number of years ago. Nothing that I had ever experienced, thought of or come up with in the intervening years (and there was just a vast amount of analysis, navel gazing, soul searching, and millions upon millions of tears...probably more than I have cried over anything else in my life) nothing came close to making me feel understood or even that my current situation was okay. Heh, I even feel weird talking about it on THE TUMBLRS. Because this was one of the biggest personal challenges I have ever faced and something that, for better or worse (mostly the latter...) has influenced my life and how I relate to people immeasurably.

-Hijo De La Luna - a stunning song, completely gorgeous, even though it's not her "original" song it's like it was written exactly for her voice. She sounds stunning singing it and to me it's perfect for the sort of artist she presents herself as. Technically exquisite, light and alluring, communicating a story beautifully but the story itself is incredibly dark, deep and uncomfortable with a glorious, though bittersweet, redemption at the end. To me, this is Sarah all over.

- Eden. THIS SONG IS ABOUT ME AND MY GIRLCRUSH FROM YEARS AGO AND IT IS TOLD FROM HER PERSPECTIVE AND IT IS THE SONG ABOUT HER LEAVING HER HUSBAND AND GETTING TOGETHER WITH ME EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW IT IS GOING TO BE DIFFICULT WE KNOW IT IS MEANT TO BE AND I AM EMBARASSED WRITING THIS SO I WILL STOP NOW OK.
