this is probably one of my all time favourite lines that i’ve written.
when i read tlg, the way ilya always saw himself as undeserving of love fucking killed me. yk why? bc it sucks so much to long for something/someone so bad yet your mind is always telling you that you don’t deserve that thing/person.
on the other hand, we know that shane would never think of ilya this way—that man would die if he weren’t with ilya (canon).
and it just struck me. shane would do anything to see ilya happy, to remind him of how inherently good he is, to remind him that he isn’t his brother nor his father. he would go about talking to everyone about ilya bc he wants them to see the man he fell in love with—he would give the world his eyes to see ilya.
