Secret Santa
My Secret Santa for Faith. I apologise I got distracted and basically started writing a whole story rather than a one shot đđ
3k words for our lovely Ollie. I hope you like it. I tried something new with driver!reader as itâs not normally my style
Ollie had just qualified on pole for the 2024 Jeddah race. You had just parked your car behind the P2 board next to him as you pulled yourself out of the vehicle with a smile hidden behind your helmet.
âYou did it!â You cheered, wrapping your arms around him. You knew how long heâd been waiting for that pole after you got your pole position last race.
âThank youâ He smiled, his arms wrapping around your body and holding you tight. You tapped his back, allowing him to be weighed. You stood back, allowing the Hitech team to photograph you with the car. You thanked the team and watched Ollie continue his after-quali routine before completing your own.
Later that night, you and Ollie settled down in his hotel room, having just finished your training session for the night.
âDo you think we should order room service?â You asked Ollie, who picked the menu up to take a look at it
âHmm, I donât fancy anything. Do you want something?â He asked, and you shrugged a little, looking at the menu over his forearm to read it.
âThat sounds niceâ You smiled, pointing at one of the foods you constantly eat
âObviously, you want that. Iâll order it nowâ He chuckled, and you smiled, sitting up a little
âWhile weâre waiting, Iâm gonna go for a shower thenâ Ollie nodded
âAre you showering here or in your room?â He asked, laying vertically across the bed with his head in his hands, feet hanging off the side of the bed
âWhy? You gonna steal my clothes?â You joked, and he shook his head
âNo was just gonna offer you something to wearâ He shrugged innocently
âAww, sweet. I was gonna run back to my room to get a change of clothes and some clothes for tomorrow so I can leave from your room tomorrow if thatâs okay?â You asked, and he nodded
âObviously, it is.â He smiled, and you nodded
âIâll be back soon then.â

When you walk back into Ollieâs room, his manager sits in a chair in the corner, and Ollie is on a phone call to someone on his bed. Your eyes danced around the room, mainly between Chris and Ollie. Settling your bag down next to the bathroom door
âItâs Fredâ, Chris whispered, and you nodded, sitting on the bed next to Ollie, who instinctively reached out to hold your hand. His thumb caresses the back of your hand. The thing about being best friends for years was you could see the stress on his face.
When he hung up, both you and Chris looked at him expectantly. Ollieâs grip on your hand tightened, instantly worrying you even more. Why would Fred be phoning him? It canât be anything good
âI canât believe you only had fifty pence credit! Iâm buying you a new phone,â Ollie declared to Chris, which had you rolling your eyes
âGet to the point. What was the call about!â You pushed
âOh right, yeah. Erm Carlos had appendicitis, so heâs not been feeling or performing that great this week.â He started the actual news, which had not yet settled in his brain.
âOh, thatâs not good. Iâll buy him some flowers.â You frowned
âYeah, heâs having surgery to remove the appendix, so he wonât be able to race this weekend.â You tilted your head a little
âSo theyâre calling me up for the weekendâ, he finished, and you couldnât help but smile and wrap your arms around him quickly. The force of your hug caused him to fall backwards with you on top.
âOllie, thatâs great! Well, not the situation, obviously, but youâre racing in F1,â You cheered with a smile. Ollie wrapped his arms around your waist as he sat back up. Shaking Chrisâ hand as you rested your head on his shoulder with a smile
âWell, Iâll leave you two. Ollie, we can chat in the morning. Get some sleep, you twoâ Chris smiled, leaving the room
âThanks for the pole position.â You chuckled
âOh my god, youâre on pole now!â Ollie smiled, pulling you closer to his body and wrapping your legs around his waist.
No matter the different stages you were in during racing, you were both always supportive of each other. The little wins in life make you both happy for each other. Simple things like a call-up, a pole position, a sprint win, or even a contract extension were the things you enjoyed together.
âI need to tell Kimi, my dad, Charles.â He lists, and you smile, caressing his cheek
âTake a deep breath, love. Your first thing to do should be to tell your parents. Go, I know your dadâs here this weekend. Iâll text Kimi to come here, and as for Charles. I think he probably already knows love, but if you want, Iâll go bug himâ You smiled, and he nodded, taking a deep breath
âCan you get Charles here? I think Iâd like to see himâ You nodded with a smile, moving from his lap
âOn you go. See your dad. Iâll text Kimi and Charles and keep our food warm when it arrives. If it ever arrivesâ You rolled your eyes
âYeah, itâs been taking a long time.â He chuckled, and you nodded
âYeah, it has been. Iâm hungry after that workout session.â Ollie pressed a kiss to your head before walking to his dadâs hotel room as you text Kimi and Charles
~~~
That night, Charles stayed for about an hour, providing some valuable information to Ollie about the track in an F1 car and the car in general as you finally enjoyed your shower.
On the other hand, Kimi had stayed all night, deciding to sleep on the couch in the room because he âwanted toâ. You just rolled your eyes and cuddled into Ollie; your romantic relationship was something the Formula Two grid knew about, and maybe a handful of the Formula One grid knew about.
~~~
Sunday morning had come around. Ollie had qualified 11th in his first-ever Formula One race. You were ready to head off from pole position in your feature race.
You'd wanted Ollie in your garage or at least in the paddock, but the timings of his meetings for Ferrari didn't allow that; however, Lando had agreed to come along to support you in person.
With your parents unable to fly out for the race due to work commitments, having someone standing by your side was nice.
The McLaren logo was etched across your helmet, race suit and car as you turned to Lando, who handed you the black gloves
âGo out there and have fun! Charles is coming after his meeting if the race isn't over by thenâ he smiled, and you nodded. Despite acting as an older brother towards yourself, the McLaren driver took the time to ensure your helmet was secured correctly.
âEnjoy it!â He called as you waved, getting into your car.
And you did enjoy the race so much that you won it. Pulling yourself out of the car, you allowed yourself to get weighed before joining your team for their celebration.
Standing at the barriers were Charles and Lando. You couldn't help but smile and walk over to them, your helmet long forgotten on the floor.
Charles hugged you, wrapping one arm around your back and the other on your neck. The emotions of excitement flood through your veins as you can barely stand still long enough for his hug. Charles ruffled your hair before you moved on. Lando
âWell done, champ!â He smiled, pulling you into his hug as Charles rested his hand on your back
âOllie watched the race during his meeting. He was going to come down but got called into another meeting. You can come back with me, though,â Charles grinned just before the officials called you away for the podium.
The relief flooded your veins as you stood on the top step, listening to your national anthem. A large smile spread across your face as you took a deep breath, letting it out.
Women could do it! Women could reach the stages they wanted to in the Formula series.
An hour later, you placed everything back into your garage, finished your briefings quickly, and followed Charles to the Ferrari garage. Your papaya race suit resting around your waist as you looked for Ollie
Bumping into him as you both rounded a corner. Ollie had a smile covering his face as his scarlet red race suit sat around his waist.
âOh my god! Y/N, you won!â He exclaimed, wrapping his arms around you
âI did it. I proved them wrong,â you whispered into his neck as he rubbed your back
âYeah, you did, babyâ He smiled, sneaking back into his driver's room with you still in his arms
âI've been told I can't watch the race from here, so I've got to go back to McLaren before the raceâ, you explained, and he nodded
âThat's okay. I know you're cheering for meâ He smiled, cupping your face with his hands as he leaned down to press a kiss to your lips
âI'm always cheering for you, darlingâ you whispered, looking up at the driver
âHow are you feeling? Relaxed enough?â You asked, and he shook his head
âI'm very stressed. I've got Lewis Hamilton starting in front of me. I'm driving a Ferrari. I'm creating new records just by getting in that car. I don't knowâ He sighed as you sat on his massage table
Ollie moved over to stand in between your legs, his hands resting around your waist, your arms resting around his neck
âDarling. You're an amazing driver. Fred thinks so as well, or you wouldn't be here, remember that. You're so good that you almost knocked a seven-time world champion out of Q2! I'll be cheering you on, Kimi will be cheering you on third most, and your dad, well, I don't think anyone here will be cheering you on more. You've made him proud by even getting in that car. Please always remember that even if you don't finish the race or you don't finish in the points, we're all still proud,â you smiled, resting your forehead against his, and he nodded, squeezing your waist.
âI love youâ, He whispered, full of emotion. His eyes showed the unshed tears
âI love you too, darlingâ you smiled

Charles, the ever-loving grid father, eventually kicked you out of the Ferrari garage. You had walked back to the Mclaren garage with a little bit of a sulk on your face, which caused Lando to laugh as you walked through his side of the garage
âHey, no laughing. I was kicked out from supporting Ollieâ You huffed, and he laughed, pulling you into his arms
âDo you not think you should get out of that race suit, Fire?â He asked, and you shrugged a little
âI donât want to go back to the F2 paddock, thoughâ You replied with a pout
âKimi, Dino and Paul will be thereâ, he tried, and you shook your head
âKimi is with Merc, Dino is with Ferrari, and Paul just disappearsâ, You replied, still unhappy with his choice
âWhy donât you raid the team cupboard then?â He replied with a shrug as you smirked
âWill you join me? I donât want to get in trouble, and you're the golden boy, after all,â You tried, and he nodded with a laugh
âCome on then, Fire.â He wrapped an arm around your shoulder, leading you to the team's store cupboard, where they hid the extra uniforms. You didnât realise how much you hated being in the F2 paddock without Ollie. It was lonely.
Lando opened the store cupboard before looking about and pushing you in with a force you werenât expecting. You lost your footing, landing against one of the shelves as Lando stood outside laughing
âHey, Iâm having a bad day over here. Youâre meant to be making it better! Not worse!â You exclaimed, and he laughed
âJust pick your uniforms, then you can have a better dayâ, he shrugged. You did as you were told, picking out the papaya top in your size before picking out your trousers. You turned to Lando with a triumphant smile
âShoes?â He asked with a frown as you kicked up a leg so he could see your feet where you were wearing a pair of team-branded trainers.
âI got told off for walking about in my racing boots and making them dirty. Marcus forced me to change shoesâ You smiled.
âRight, Marcusâ He rolled his eyes
âHey! Whatâs wrong with my engineer?â You asked, following behind him more in a sprint due to his long strides.
âNew question!â He exclaimed as you caught up to him
âWhat's right with your engineer?â He asked, and you shrugged a little, tilting your head
âYeah, he is a little creepyâ, you muttered, and he nodded, turning a corner
âHowever, he's good at his jobâ You smiled, and Lando raised an eyebrow
âSometimesâ, you muttered, and he nodded, opening his driver's room door and allowing you to walk in
âWhy's he still your engineer?â he asked, shutting the door behind himself
âIt's in my contract that I need to have the same engineer until the end of my contract, or they can terminate my contract early, and well Mclaren pays for me to raceâ, You replied as his eyes widened in shock
âIt's in your contract? Who the fuck is your manager?â He asked
âWell, when I signed, it was meâ You shrugged, motioning for him to turn around, which he did, allowing you to get changed
âWho's your manager now, then?â He asked, facing the wall.
âI don't think I should disclose thatâ you shrugged
âNow you've got to disclose it!â Lando exclaimed
âNicoâ, you shrugged, allowing him to turn around with his eyes widened yet again
âHulk? Rosberg?â He asked
âOh yeah, full-time Formula 1 driver and full-time father Nico Hulkenbergâ, You joked, fixing your shoes, and Lando looked at the time
âShit! This isn't over,â He said. getting up before running out of the room, leaving you to laugh. Lando Norris is chronically both online and offline all at once.
You were sure that this topic of conversation had come up before, especially about your manager, but that man always seemed to be bouncing around the room when you spoke.
âWell done, Y/Nâ, Oscar smiled, stopping at the door of Landos drivers room
âThank you. Did you know Rosberg was my manager?â you asked him, and he nodded
âThat's common knowledge, is it not?â He frowned
âWell, I thought so, but your teammate didn't knowâ, you replied, and he laughed
âLandos is oblivious sometimes. I'll see you soonâ He smiled, and you nodded
âGood luck, Oscarâ, you smiled, and he waved, walking through the garage.
~~~
After all the cars were on the grid, you walked to the garage, removing your headphones from the wall to protect your ears.
Having left everything in Lando's messy driver's room, you smiled as the cameras turned to you, showing you on the large screen.
Andrea Stella walked by, squeezing your shoulder as he passed, to which you smiled at him
âWell done on the win!â He exclaimed
âThank you, Andreaâ You smiled. Sitting down on one of the fold-down seats, Andrea walked down to the pit wall.
Watching the race was terrifying, to say the least. Whenever you spotted the camera on yourself, you did your bare minimum and put on a brave face.
When the camera turned to David, you understood him. Watching his son drive at over a hundred miles per hour was terrifying from the outside. Driving next to him was a lot easier.
You were almost thankful when the race was over. Smiling at the reserve driver's points as other drivers waved while passing him. It was safe to say you were more than proud.
Sneaking out of the McLaren garage was the easiest part of your little plan. Getting into the media pen was the hardest.
Standing outside the media tent getting funny looks from the security who had allowed you in earlier annoyed you more than it should have; you just wanted to see your boyfriend
âY/N, good race today!â Carlos exclaimed as he passed, which excited yet another sigh from your lungs.
Lando was walking over, meaning you had good hope he'd get you inside. As he walked past, his arm wrapped around your shoulder, pulling you along. It had you stumbling until security stepped in his way
âShe isn't allowed in. Formula One personnel onlyâ He pointed to a sign
âMy throat is killing me. I've been warned not to speak. This is my speaker for me,â He lied, to which the security let out a sigh and stepped away, allowing Lando to pull you through the tent
âThat's the worst excuse I've ever heardâ, you giggled, to which he shrugged
âIt worked, didn't it? You owe me now, thoughâ He pointed a finger, to which you smiled
âI'll bake brownies,â Lando nodded in agreement before walking off. Your eyes scanned the tent.
Damn, why there are so many Ferrari personnel here? Why's Carlos in here? He didn't even race. You wondered while watching Carlos do his interview. Wait, didn't he just say hello?
You were too caught up in your thoughts to realise that the newest point scorer was standing behind you until his arms wrapped around your waist, causing you to jump away from him turning around to see who it was
âHey, itâs just meâ He chuckled as you let out a breath of relief
âNo sneaking up on me!â You exclaimed. Ollie laughed, wrapping his arms around you again with a smile
âMy neck hurts so much alreadyâ, He whispered into the crook of your neck as your arms wrapped around him
âA nice ice bath will help with thatâ You smiled as he pulled back with an unamused face
âHow did you even get in here?â He asked pulling away from your neck
âLando obviously. I had to see you before you were stolen by Ferrariâ you huffed as Ollie laughed a little
âI've got to go do another interview. I'll meet you in your hotel room?â He asked and you nodded.
âI'll see you there. Love youâ you smiled up at the driver
âLove you tooâ He smiled, pressing a kiss to your head before walking over to his press officer for the weekend.
It was safe to say it was a good weekend in Jeddah
