um, so, it could be where both the reader and Michael are famous (and met when they were both famous, on like a talk show or something idk lol) and the reader is friends with 5sos, but, especially Michael, and they have like a "connection" and their friendship develops into romance. idk just an idea
“Michael!” You yell down the light colored hallway filled with doors.
You were backstage at a talk show, the one where you’d met 5sos for the first time years ago. You’d made fast friends with them, being similar in age and digging the same music.
You’d of course spent time with them and supported them in the years since you’d met and they’d done the same for you, always talking about your new movies on twitter while you posted videos singing their new songs on Insta and Snapchat.
He spins and grins at you, and you get a running start and immediately jump into his arms.
You’d recently been on a trip with Michael, him and his girlfriend had invited you out, since you were a close friend. You’d heard minor rumors that they’d broken up but he hadn’t said anything.
“It’s so good to see you!” He exclaimed.
“I told you we were on this show together again when we were on vacation.” You laughed. “How’s the girlfriend?”
“Oh…” he finally put you down so you standing in front of him. He fixed his glasses and looked down. “We broke up like right when we got home from that trip.”
“Shit… I’m sorry love, why didn’t you say anything?” You ask, reaching out to grab his hand.
“I… I had some thinking I needed to do.” He explained, gently squeezing your hand. “But it's ok. And I’m so glad you’re here.”
“Hey! Doll!” Your makeup artist called from the other end of the hall, “You’re needed for hair and makeup.”
“Ok! I’ll be right there.” You say to him, and then turn back to Michael. “Guess I’ll see ya out there!” You grin.
“Ok, I’ll see ya.” He smiles and laughs as you make a face before you turn and head to your dressing room.
You sit in your chair and your artist grins, “he’s the one, right?” He asks.
“Yesss…” you draw out. “How’d you know?”
“You described him perfectly. There’s some serious chemistry there.” He says, brushing out your hair.
“Yeah, but he’s getting over a breakup. And we’ve always just been friends.” You shrug.
“Any breakup he was getting over left his mind when you saw you. I can assure you that.”
You sit in the chair and laugh with your glam squad, your nerves amping up the closer it got to show time. You were on first to talk about your new movie, they guys would be on after and performing a new song but you’d still be out there to interact with them.
You got dressed and a PA came by to get you mic’ed up. He hooked it up and he gave you the five minute warning. You got your lipstick touched up and a little more powder and then headed to wait for the host to call your name.
You keep him laughing with stories from set, and your travels and some of the weird Anna Kendrick-Esque things that you say in interviews.
“Now my next guests, you’re good friends with these guys right?” He asks, preparing to introduce 5SOS.
“Absolutely. Michael is one of my best friends. We actually met on your show so many years ago.” You explain.
“And with that, let’s welcome the guys! Ashton, Calum, Luke and Michael, 5 Seconds Of Summer!”
The screams were deafening, but you were used to it from spending time on their tours.
They talked about tour a little bit and the new album, and then the host started asking about relationship status.
All of the guys admitted to being single for the first time in awhile.
Luke turns his attention to you after some banter about the guys getting back to being boys, “what about you?” He asks.
“Single! But I’ve been crushing pretty hard for a couple years and he’s recently single so maybe we can get that working out soon.”
“Ooh! In all the years I’ve known you, you’re practically always single.” Ashton points out.
“No, I just never bring guys around you all.” You laugh.
“Who’s the lucky guy?” The host asks and you just shake your head, but you and Michael make eye contact and he just grins at you.
“Well if there’s anything we can do to help…” he mentions.
You roll your eyes. And it’s time for a commercial break and the guys go to get ready for their performance.
Once the show ends you head backstage and start to change and pull your hair back. There’s a knock on your dressing room door and your glam squad quickly flits around and excuses themselves as Michael walks in.
“We’re gonna go grab some food. You wanna come?” He asks.
You nod. “Sure. Where ya stayin?”
“We’re in the penthouses at the Hilton across town.” He explains.
“Hey, me too! Why don’t ya ride back with me? I need to change.” You grin.
“Sure!” He smiles.”lemme go tell the guys so they don’t wait.”
“Ok, I’m just about ready.” You nod. You finish gathering your things and head out back to wait. You bantered with Calum and Ash, waiting for Mike and Luke.
Mike opened the door on the car meant for you and the other three piled into the other Escalade.
Mike reached across the space and grabbed your hand. “I’m actually really glad I got to see you tonight.” He said quietly. “I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately, thinking about us.”
“Oh?” Your interest was piqued.
“Yeah, after seeing us together, Jackie wanted to break up. She said we had too much chemistry to ignore and that’d she’d just be wasting her time waiting for it to happen. And it took me a few weeks but I finally realized what she meant.” He admitted. “And.” He licks his lips and slides across the seat. “I’ve been dying to kiss you all night.” He said, leaning in to kiss you.
When he pulled away, you both leaned against the seat and just grinned.
